Thanks ... those are the big fulcrums for me: 1. Is it as described - never trust a high pressure sales pitch that wants you to sign a multi-thousand dollar commitment instantly, intoxicated. Is it a bait-and-switch or really as described, good or bad ... 2. Will I want to lock-in at one spot 3. Will TTR stay status quo: risks the resort changes formats or the crowd turns a way we find uncomfortable.
Your package comes with a certain $ of nights. The cheapest one is like 175 nights. You do join up with RCI so if you wanted to go somewhere else you can bank a week and do a trade. If you go somewhere that's not an AI it's actually cheaper to do so since you aren't paying the AI fee that you do staying at Temptation, just a trade free for the whole week. Part of the reason we got it is we wanted to do a couple Europe trips in the coming years and trading for hotels there will save quite a bit if we can make it all work out. So it's not like a normal timeshare where you get say week 12 every year and that's it. It's flexible to use as you want and doesn't have to be in week-long chunks. If you do it you can negotiate them down a good amount. Going for the smallest package gets you the same perks basically as the high $ ones, just fewer nights. We were fine with that and if later as we use it up want to re-up then we can do it at that point. Also, it is nice not having to scour the internet anymore hoping for a sale or wanting to go on a busy week and finding its super expensive. You know exactly what it will be and can easily book and your payment for the trip isn't due till 30 days before your check-in so it's easy to book and plan early without having to tie up the money for the trip until closer to it.
It works for us too No complaints.....members for almost 5 yrs now. No BS.....we want a room...we call....guarnteed reservation...same price high season...same price low season. We luv the perks.....get the same room...same maid....same fridge stocking....same room service breaky. Same resvrrations at Italian....same yacht booking.....it is all taken care of. We luv premiere service at pool. Luv the deck and PatyOs seating. We use the spa pool, on rainy days. We also use the spa on last day after check out to change for flight home We didn't pay alot for our membership. And we have earned it back already via Referrals, 4 free trips already....and by booking expensive weeks in high season (e.g. NYE or last week of Feb)....still same price for members as any other week in high season. So memebrs prices are huge savings on those weeks. It is like buying a car or real estate. Make the numbers work for you and make sure you get everything you want written in the document. You don't like the details or the numbers walk away. But it is an investment vehicle and if yiu are savvy you can stay real cheap(free) MEMBERSHIP DOES NOT WORK FOR EVRRYONE. And often no 2 memberships are identical. If anyone has a strong sense of buying a membership and not just looking to 'kick tires', you can pm questions to me and I will try to hook you up with the proper channels. Owner of this site (Steve) is not a fan of premiere chatter on here.
Wouldn't work for us, although admittedly we are probably not typical guests. Am I wrong? I thought the member price was 25% off the prices published on the TTR website which change regularly, often daily. Considering the prices on their website are often 40-50%% higher than other places - even a 25% discount means it's more expensive. Have enquired several times about using friends membership and always found it cheaper elsewhere. We normally book with Alpharooms.
Our contract is divided into high season and low season. ( I believe they adjusted the 2 dates last year -2013). But it was Nov 1 to March 31 was high season. Obviiusly the rest of the year is low season. We pay the same exact figure every time we book a week in high season. We pay the same lower sum every week in low season. Those prices are locked in for the terms of contract. ( we originally had 2009 rates bcuz we bought in very late 2009, but we re-upped in 2012 and thusly our seasonal rates are higher than what we had.....but we added more Referrals and therefore make the money back) I.e. Our week at NYE was the same per night as Week 8. Our week fir Easter was lower, but the same as we paid for 1st week of June. Our annual week for Hotties and Hellraisers is 1/2 and 1/2, bcuz Halloween is just b4 seasonal switch. Our contract also extends to OR's other properities. However the prices are higher at Desire but still are broken into 2 categories of high/low season. I can only speak in regards to our agreement. But I know others/friends have the same accordances
Thanks for the clarification. Yeah I think contracts change often, yours is 5 years old so is probably different terms to what they are selling right now.
They went thru recently and updated the contracts. As a member you pay an all inclusive fee and that's it. Something like 115/night/couple low season, 135 high. We did a booking for friends with one of our referral weeks for halloween this year and it was 135/night for them as well.
Really......? That is huge! Our referral rate is lower and our own nightly is much lower. when did you buy Sprye?
