Lol. Yea we had to go this last time or we would have had to pay the difference. They kept bringing the price down on membership, but we are not ready to purchase yet. They let up after we told them...again...that we were not married. Lol. But yes, I was ready to walk out & enjoy the sun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't know what the "whole" presentation is exactly, as I am sure every experience is different. I would that think if you were planning to buy, that you could just say that you sat through it before and you want to buy, so lets just go right to the numbers and start the negotiations right away. When we went on the presentation in May during the breakfast part I basically was really clear with him that I wasn't buying, but wanted to see numbers on paper for some other time years later and gain perspective on the whole thing. We skipped the tour, because it was our third time at the resort. So we basically ate, then went strait to the office and the deal got laid out. Manager assisted twice, still no interest, our dude thanked us and we parted ways in about 2 hours from start to finish. It wasn't a bad experience, but other friends have had it completely different and the timeshare people get mad at them and it is a 2+ hour fight. Guess it just depends who you get. Also, I can be very good at just transporting my brain somewhere else once I am no longer listening to you. I am sure it is obvious that the person is wasting their breath talking to a dude who is in another dimension. If in the future I go again, and I am still not planning on buying, I would like to see if I can make a deal with someone and say I will give you $200 to use a referral week, but I am not going to the presentation.
They cant charge you for not going to the sales pitch. The person who gave you the referral just doesn't get his $250.
It is Mexico... they can probably get away with it or boot you out of the hotel if you didn't pay. What is your recourse? Legal action after you get home?
Ummm....yes they can charge you the full rate and take away the perks. Reneging on the referral conditions has consequences if the hotel wants to enforce it. There are only so many Referrals alotted per day, and to not follow thru with presentation is just not cool.
We agree Marshe but after 90-120 minutes, that is enough. I have heard of less-willed people spending four hours, felt captive.
Good to know. I have heard people say they just blew it off, but I guess I wouldn't want to risk it then.
Required only if you have a referral week. Otherwise you hose the member that provided the referral. We took a referral, about the same price. Checking out the benefits but not going to buy. Does not make sense for us
We went multiple times and refused to listen to the pitch. We purchased a "basic or small" plan when we learned we could add multiple "family" members as "owners." We listed our 3 children and a brother. Do we save money? NO. Steve is correct. Do we "assist" family when they go, yes. Just an alternative way to see the program. We "assist" others who would struggle with the $$. They have a great time. We still go about 4 weeks per year.
The ''Value'',, is different for every one cause different people value the perks differently. If your good with your room, drinks , and wear you sit at the pool , the ''Value'' isn't there, and V/V
