If you are a member and you do find a better deal on another website, Premier will honour your membership perks when you arrive. You'll receive your white band at checkin. They know that at times blocks are purchased from travel sites that are better than what they have listed. Do your homework before booking and you'll get cooperation from Premier. Our membership of 3 years hasn't disappointed us yet. Also our contract states there will be 2% yearly increase and Mexican tax increase when the govt. raises it (this happened in 2014). We were notified with each increase.

    What caused the delays?

Going there....... The flight crew encountered a 2 hour flight delay getting to Ottawa to pick us up,,, that meant they got sent to some hotel room for a 11 hour nap/delay( thery were over there alloted air time,, I say suck it up and switch on auto pilot) . Then some other things ?? delayed the flight a further 4 or 5 hours , so we arrived the following day after being up for 36 hours .
Sun wing gave us a 150 pp voucher for sunwing ( shoved it)

Coming back,, crack in windshield,,, 12 hour delay,, they made us pick up all our luggage, get on buses and go to a resort to eat at buffet an hour away (for free) , then we had to recheck all our luggage and redue security and immigration forms.

Sunwing,,, I had reservations for Honeymoon Suite,, hotel ( Princess Punta Cana) only had regular room booked,,,

Tried calling ounce , after 1.5 hours on hold I hung up

The 6 days we were at the resort were good overall.
your typical adult only resort you would bring your mother too.
I picked it for better Jan, weather ( had bad freezing experience in Jan at TTR )

people are complaining on another thread about no ac,, this resort only has AC in your room and 2 small A l cartes ,, ALL other areas,, buffet , lobby, main theater are non ac. Made me really appreciate the AC in the main Buffet at TTR and Lobby,

    ,,lol thread hijacked

In terms of the flights it sure sounds like bad luck, but reasonable explanations :( There are some crazy strict rules governing flying times for pilots so I can understand that, and I'm guessing a broken windshield is something that they kind of have to fix lol!

Also it sounds like you got a reminder of what makes TTR so good!

Our AI fee was $73 a night per person in 2005 for July. This year it is $183 per night per person. Our membership has been paid for a long time and I am guessing they are done with us. I am thinking we will try to find a better deal and see if they will honor the our perks once we get there. Just a sort of experiment of sorts. We love going and have come to a realization a long time a go it was a bad investment.

We have been members for a long time and they do not communicate AI rate changes. We have always had to find out when we call to book.

In May, we paid $1200 per person on Orbitz for 12 days...including airfare out of Minneapolis. That's pretty easy math. We're not Premier, so we don't get special colored towels...but I can live without the perks.

It certainly seems like the old contract system doesn't work for people. One of the reasons I upgraded a few years ago.

For me, travelling along I'm paying $112 a night (again one person) for 16 nights in May. Now I need to pay for my flight, but that's fine, I can get decent flights, or use my air miles.
