Glad you got such a great deal through alpharooms. My wife and I went for 10 days in Dec. and it cost us $1500 US including flights. Plus, I got the meager Premier benefits. Do I feel ripped off?
I can say with certainty that travelling to TTR solo as I do being single, that I save a substantial amount (though I do also use my frequent flyer miles etc) instead of using something like Expedia. But that's because I've figured out a good way for me to travel in terms of time of year and length of stay. And I get to use a cool robe so there's that too lol
It did work for us. Saved £400 last time compared with Thomas Cook deals. We are just annoyed they think to just increase the Ai rate without saying anything. Looking at our contract they have put that they must tell us in writing before they do but they have not.

Oh no as soon as I saw your NEVER FLY SUNWING I knew something bad happened...30 hours is bad but at least it did not happen going there or thank God did not happen anything else went wront....how was the trip overall
