I would agree with that. Granted our only trip pre Reno was the year before, but we actually didn’t find all the crazy. Could have been that we were there with three other couple, but I don’t know. Two of the other couples and us had been at the Golden Parnassus the year before, and actually found that experience to be more “wild”. I also agree with the part that you can find any sort of action that you want. I’ve seen sex, and blow jobs in the hot tub, and pretty sure you can get away with a bunch during the foam party. I suppose Bash could be sexier, but I have plenty of flashing pics that show fun can still be had.
Your last paragraph hit the nail on the head as to why we are considering other options....and we’ve come the past 6 years the same week, so lots of same/repeaters but the crowd you described continues to grow. Definitely missed our usual Canadian crowd last week though!
I/we have nothing to add with respect to was and now. Everything I read was pretty much spot on with our experiences. Remember, “the older we get, the better we were” syndrome ! But, I have to agree with @Steve in that some, including us, tire or outgrow the place and either no longer visit or simply slow down for a variety of reasons. For those who found the place later in life many times this is due to financial changes, health, age, or death. As I have often posted, many of the changes we all like and don’t like are calculated to keep the guests flowing in. I most believe this is for the younger crowd. Hey, hook’em young and there is a chance that some will visit over a lifetime or maybe the 5-8 yrs Steve has noted. Of course if too young there is the college, house, marriage, kids obstacle to deal with. And an unintended consequence of our young’ens is that they suffer from a “reboot” or constant change type behavior...meaning many will be one and done. But, again as Steve pointed out, the hotel is in business of filling rooms day to day and week to week. And then there are the changes to push out the old to bring in the new. The old may have more income and allow visits to more expensive places. For us, although we don’t like the prices, it is now Desire(s) and most likely split trips. Rather than 4-6 trips to TTR, it will most likely be, for awhile, 1-2 trips to TTR at selected times to see friends, and the others to Desires(s). Because of costs just not sure if it will be 4-6 per year We have started exploring several places stateside and more local seeking the fun and entertainment of. TTR...including our hosting at our own home with topless and clothing optional house, hot tub and pool (that is not too deep and still shows the boobies!). But life goes on and the fun continues.
It has been very different the last two trips during the pandemic without the Canadian population. They seriously do make an impact on overall niceness and manners aspects. I am eager for their return, but I am sure they are even more eager than I. I need my dose of goofball stories of the things my friends from Alberta do on the weekends.
We visited many times pre-reno and only once right after the renovations--and after that we both said we didn't care if we ever went back again to the "new" TTR. However, here we are, and we're really excited about heading back in July! The whole time we were there in 2018, though, I couldn't help noticing how so many of the "improvements" looked great on Instagram, but were really impractical in the real world. That naked chick on the bottom of the pool? Instagrammable, but much less interesting than seeing live boobs while you're in the pool...which you can't now since it's so deep. And the irony of it being so photogenic is that you aren't allowed to take any pictures. So...kind of a waste, really. I felt like most of the architectural "improvements" were the same way. We visited a lot of resorts before TTR, and all were more luxurious than the old TTR. But, we never visited any a second time. What kept us coming back to TTR was the fact that it was unpretentious, which encouraged abled the party atmosphere. Post-reno, the crowd was younger and hotter--but more self-conscious and more judgmental. I'm not taking my top off my 50-something boobs when there's a gaggle of perky 20-somethngs giving side-eye to all the "people too old to be acting that way." Bash feels different when all the good real-estate is reserved for the "fancy people." I know when the crowd is right, those things don't matter as much, but they do impact the vibe to a degree. So, I know the structure needed updates, but I miss the carefree party vibe. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll fall back in love with the place in July.
@summerbum we still love it there!! Of course we don’t disagree with the changes. And we are happy with the improvements! But the things and reasons that kept us returning before the renovation hav’nt changed a bit after the reno.
i like some of the changes, but not all. patios was funner more intimate, but too hot for me! always wanted a breeze! now you get a great one. i think the raised floor kinda silly but to each their own. steps in the pool need to be edged with a diff color so they are easily seen! always forget the last one. im hoping the food selection went down only because of covid, other wise i will be very dissapointed with that!!! well see of course. but still have fun.
steps need to be color edged everywhere .. I have seen so many people fall off those steps in the lobby going toward bash .. it is like the guy who decided to do this forgot we were drunks when they made decisions The one big thing we make fun of is all the egg chairs .. none of the chairs are comfortable ..its like we got time warped into 1970's porn with the deco .. but ya know what ..pool to deep .. fear of falling .. weird deco .. this is still our favorite place ever because of the staff and people we go with ..
