5th treatment was Sept. 2nd. All is going well, so far.. 6th treatment will be the 23rd. After that, Dr will do a scan, and if it has shrunk enough, he will set Mom up to remove more, than let her get over that, and go from there. He says will be long process, but seems chemo is helping.
Mom goes in for surgery in the morning. We have to be there at 9 am, but not sure what time the surgery will begin. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers. Dr. told us the other day that the chemo did shrink it, and then he gave Mom 2 choices. 1- She could do nothing. 2- She could have surgery to remove the rest of her female stuff, lymp nodes, fatty curtin, etc... They are going to do biopsy of things why they are in there to make sure it's not in any of her other organs, and they are also going to check her bowels. Please pray for a smooth, problem free surgery, and a speedy recovery, and please keep praying for her, cause her spirts are staying high, and she seems to be doing better now than she's done in a few years... Thank You... Here's An Update!!!! Mom went through surgery well.. She got in her room around 8:30 last night.. Think they had to cut her even bigger this time. She says she's more sore, but Mom is a trooper... Think she'll be fine... Dr said he got 90% of the Cancer that he could see. Didn't have to touch the lymp nodes, cause they looked fine.. Didn't have to take any of the bowels, cause they seemed to look fine, but said she'd be a little longer making a bowel movement this time, cause he had to move it around a little bit to get and scrap some of the Cancer out. The fatty wall was removed too. It is suppose to be paper like & thin, but it was kinda think and rubbery, which he said could be good, but we'd have to wait on the test to get back to make sure.. I'm pretty sure he said they removed the rest of her female stuff this time too.... He wants to do some more chemo once she gets better from this.. Seems to think it will shrink it even more, and may be able to remove more of it... Please continue to keep us in your thoughts & prayers.. Thanks, Greta
Latest Update On Mom... We went for her Post Op. visit on Nov 6th, and it went very well. He told Mom that someone has been watching over her, and he is so amazed... He now says this is Treatable, Manageable, & Controlable. Wonderful News... He wants to give her 6 more chemo treatments, then do another CT Scan on here to check things, they will let everything be for around a month or so, bring her back in, and check her again. If things maintain after the 6 chemo treatments, he will only have to give her chemo when needed, as needed.. Thanks everyone for your thoughts & prayers. Keep them up. They seem to be helping....
UPDATE ON MOM!!! SHE IS NOW CANCER FREE!!! Went to Dr today, and he told us she was in Remission!!! What a wonderful day!!! She went from 4th stage Ovarian Cancer Remission from May 2009 till now. To people who have Cancer, NEVER GIVE UP!!!
