Yes, bring condoms! The resort should really supply them with the shampoo and bottled water, but alas, they don't...

Also, if you didn't prearrange ground transportation from the airport to TTR, and if you refuse to pay the ridiculous price of a taxi out of the airport, you can ride the bus. Look for the ADO desk. (Their logo is red and white) It's a luxury bus, and it's a great place to take a power nap so you're ready for the upcoming night's fun! You'll then need to take a local bus from downtown to the Zona Hotelera, which isn't difficult if you speak even a little Spanish. I know, it all sounds like a hassle, but just sayin' it's an option.

Pack a hat and sunscreen for faces. You poor nose will be purple after a few days at the sexy pool.

Pack Lysol to spray in the ac vents. Room doesn't smell and keeps the mold down. Since I started doing his I haven't gotten sick, and rarely loose my voice.

We always toss about 15 wire hangers into our bag since there are never enough supplied in the room.
Also, we pack a few scented tea candles to burn on those really high humidity days.

These are awesome hints! Even though we are seasoned travelers, I have learned a few things here. I never thought about taking a picture f your address in case the camera was lost. I also never thought about bringing powdered Gatorade. I will definitely be wiping down my seat and tray table on the plane!

When we go to Mexico we start taking a pro biotic supplement about a month before we leave. The only tummy troubles we have had have been from over indulging.

Pack minimal required items such as toothbrush, medications, bathing suit, etc. to get you through first day in your carry on bag. Assume the airline will lose your check-in bag for a day. It happens rarely, but when it does, it sucks if you aren't prepared.

Next, call your bank in advance and let them know you are travelling abroad so they change the security settings on your credit card. But use your credit card only in emergency - bring cash!

Depending on your mobile account, be sure to turn off data roaming before crossing the border!

I live by the rule when i travel... "Do I have my passport and money? check! everything else I can solve when I get there"
