I had a hell of a time finding larger sized (a lot of times had trouble with just XL) clothes and outfits for our trip that was the right sexy I was going for. I found Dots, Debs, Forever 21 plus, and Frederick's of Hollywood were good places. I found Frederick's to be the best and shopped online because there isn't a store around me. Swimsuits in the style I was wanting were still buried treasure though. I finally went to a store in Canada (we aren't too far from the border), La Vie En Rose, at the suggestion of some wonderful CCC people and got great suits.
I usually have my suits custom made from lovemypeaches. They are great as you can choose style fabric all that and have it specially made to your measurements. As far as club clothes I run the route of make my own, being tall most dresses are tops on me. I also have had good luck with torrid, but h&m has some plus size now if you are lucky enough to have a store near you. Their clothes are great for crazy activities at TTR since the clothes are so cheap you don't worry if you ruin them. -Shawna
Try GreatGlam.com. They have tons and tons of sexy dresses and a whole plus size section. There were a lot of plus size ladies when I was there 2 weeks ago and totally rocking it, especially on lingerie night.
I buy stuff off ebay and then customise or make my own. I wanted a Kaftan to wear around the pool, but everything I saw online was frumpy or just a crazy pattern when all I wanted was a plain black fabric. Made my own and wouldn't be without it now! Perfect for the cruises, apart from when I was stood in front of the bar's window and it kept blowing inside and obscuring the bartender's view...oops sorry!
+Plus Size First Timer! I'm a BIG GURL. I don't have sexy outfits. I don't have freaky lingerie. I read on some of the posts that if you aren't dressed "appropriately" for the particular night of festivities, you aren't allowed into particular portions of the resort or restaurants because "party attire is required"...and the pools close at a certain time. If I am in regular vacation clothes, will I be banished to my room?? Where will I be allowed to go? Some of them also say that you aren't allowed to wear sandals into restaurants. Um, it will be ninety degrees Aug 28-Sept 3 and fat people don't like the heat. It's vacation -- what else do they expect me to have on my feet? If I wore heels, I'd just break my neck! Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!! Sarah
The only theme that is theme wear required is lingerie night. If you wanna just wear a cotton baby doll - looks like a dress you should be ok. You will see things all the way from just pasties and panties to floor length satin nightgowns. As far as the rest of the nights go you will be fine. Wear what you are comfortable with. I never participated in any themes resort or CCC until last year and I still had fun. As far as shoes, ladies can pretty much get away with anything. Usually my feet are swollen at some point and all I can wear are flip flops. I never had any problem getting into restaurants. Just go, relax, and have fun. You won't be shunned, I promise. ~Shawna

I just need to get the hell out of Kentucky and have a good time -- but it's been my worry that fat white girls would be shunned in Cancun just as much as they are in the Bluegrass. That would really blow my vacation! Ya know, they LOVE fat white girls in Jamaica. Last time I went, I had to beat the men off with a stick! Next time, Ima leave my stick at home artyhorn:
The people at TTR are fantastic. Nobody judges and we are all there to have fun. At home I would never wear what I wear at TTR, so be free let loose and get outside that comfort zone! What are your dates? My friend and I are there June 22-30th. ~Shawna
