Pablo Ortega pitched a shutout last night, and the Tigres won 3-0. The Tigres now have a 3-1 lead in the series against Veracruz. Game five of the series is set for Monday at 7:30 PM, in Veracruz. Odds are it will be broadcast locally, as was the game yesterday.
Monterrey won the North Division series 4 games to 0. Looks like we will be playing them for the league title. Well, if we can win one of the next 3 games.
We got waxed in Game 5, 12-2 So we are up 3 games to 2 and have to win one of two. Game 6 will be Wed, League schedule says at 9 pm. If we win, it's over. If not, we are all in for Thursday night. GO TIGRES
T.J. is doing his thing, lining up things for people to do. He just called me to let me know he's got tickets for tomorrow night's game. I'm going! To be seriously in the running for the championship of the Mexican League is something to cheer about. We can be proud of our team. Go Tigres!
Tigres win! The Tigres closed out the series with Veracruz last night, 6-5, becoming the champions of the southern region of Mexican League Baseball. (T.J. was there, and I'll leave it to him to tell you some of the highlights of the game.) They will now play the Sultanes of Monterrey for the Championship. The seven game series starts this Saturday at 7 PM, here in Cancun.
lol The Sultanes of Swing! Hey TJ how was that game? I am going home after work to watch Mexico take on Panama for the International Little League World Series Championship. Then the winner plays the US champ on Sunday.
T.J.'s standin' in the sun, trying to round up tickets for the big game for everyone. He said he's limited to buying eight at a time, so I hope that means eight per game. There's two championship games to be played here before the teams go to Monterrey. Super exciting times in Cancun, at the moment, with the Championship in the balance.
We were limited to 8 per game, per person, as V says. I was able to end up with 18 for each game. They are going fast. All of your friends get in touch when they know you can deliver. It's fun.
We have one ticket left for tonight and one for tomorrow. In Sec 1 8 or 9 rows up on 1st base side. $150 each. First come first served but better find a quicker way to get me than a PM here as I am out the door soon. 7 pm start time tonight and 6 pm tomorrow. They have only been selling general admissions tix since yesterday. A reserved seat at face price is like stealing. These seats are NOT where I am sitting but friends are adjacent, in back or in front. Maybe two of those three possibilities
Game One Results Well, T.J., what finally happened last night? The game was scheduled to start at 8 PM, following a long pregame show involving the military, which itself was delayed by rain. This threw the game start time very late. I left at 10:30 PM and, as I recall, they were only in the third inning at that time, with the Tigres holding a narrow lead of 2-1. Then, what, T.J.?
