Playa Trip Report ~ Monday ~ Day 5 Woke early and peeked out the curtain at a sunny sky. :sunny: Got ready for the day, and went to the Spices buffet for breakfast. Every morning we were offered champagne or mimosas ... After breakfast we met two members of the entertainment team, Rosario and Luis. They were so friendly and energetic and FUN! Mike, Christine and Luis ... Luis was so good looking, too! Oh ... if I was only 20 years younger oh, okay ... 25! ALRIGHT! ...................... 30! the beautiful Rosario, serving fruit at the pool ... They insured that the guests had a great time. I told Luis my name was Juanita, so for the rest of the week that is what he called me, and Norb was Norberto. This morning Mike, Sheila and Christine were going on a bike ride around Playa with Rosario and Luis. They rode the bike trail down 10th Avenue into Playacar to see all the beautiful, expensive homes. Mike stopped to pet these dogs ... and Luis is thinking ... "why did I agree to bring Mike along?" :? While they were foolishly peddling around town in the heat, Norb and I lounged around the pool ... We quickly made friends with the waitress, ... another Miami Vice, por favor! Here's the cart guy ... offering books, the condensed New York Times, about a dozen different sunscreens ... AND he asked if he could clean our sunglasses! What great service! After the bike ride, Mike, Sheila and Christine joined us at the pool ... Mike and Sheila in the hot tub ... Later we all went to Pelicanos for lunch ... Norb and I ordered cheeseburgers, the others had pizza ... Back to the lounge chairs to roast and toast and drink and enjoy the day! :sunny: There were some activities and games being played around the pool, blackjack, Spanish lessons, bracelet making and pool aerobics. There were lots of activities, if you wanted to participate. The Royal has a 24 Hour Room where you can get food and top shelf drinks, play pool or ping pong, watch t.v. and just hang out. New this year is the weather screen, letting you know the forecast. I liked that idea, it made it easier to plan your day. We had the BEST weather! :sunny: We stayed at the pool today, and made plans to meet for dinner at the Asiana restaurant. Later in the evening we all met at the restaurant ... We were seated around the grill ... We were joined at the grill by a friendly couple from California, and she tried to teach us how to use chopsticks. Well, that didn't work! ... could we have some forks, por favor? Our waiter brought us a sushi platter, more than enough to share. Then we had shrimp and rice. Here's Norb, embarassed to be seated with a deranged woman ... What was I laughing at ??? I don't remember, but it must have been funny.   And we ended the meal with dessert ... What an enjoyable meal! Great service and good food. Then we went to the show in the theater at 9 o'clock ... After the show we stopped in the lobby bar for a drink, and then said goodnight.
Another great day. I just love the pool...I so would've spent my entire time there. Thanks for sharing.
