DAY TWO ... FRIDAY ... MAY 11 We woke up at 6:30, after a restful sleep in our comfy bed. The view from our porch was beautiful ... We got ready for the day, and went to gather everyone for breakfast ... (if I'm awake, EVERYONE should be awake!) A casita ... The grounds are so pretty ... Christine in her hammock ... Mike on his porch ... Breakfast is served starting at 7:30, so we all walked over to the restaurant ... This is the breakfast and lunch restaurant ... All the usual breakfast foods are available ... eggs, pancakes, sausage, french toast, lots of fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, cereals, pastries, coffee and tea. What a nice view we had while eating ... We were on the beach by 8:30 :sunny: ... There were always plenty of chairs, so you didn't have to play the towel game. Got lounge chairs under a palapa, and spent the day reading, talking, laughing and cooling off in the water ... Gorgeous weather ... gorgeous beach ... Christine and Sheila on the beach ... The red flag is the location of the Playa webcam, did you see us waving at you? ... El Bote ... For lunch we decided to stay at the Shangri La. Norb and I had guacamole and chips, a Miami Vice, a Margarita, then we shared an order of chicken fajitas, and we got 2 bottles of cold water. The total was $26.00, which we thought was reasonable. I don't remember what the others ordered, but everyone liked their food. We all stayed on the beach until 5, then we went to Happy Hour at the bar. Swings at the bar ... So happy to be at Happy Hour ... There are pool tables and ping pong tables in the bar ... After Happy Hour we all went to our rooms to shower and dress for dinner. We met at the restaurant ... Tonight's dinner was sit down. We had lime soup, and a tostada appetizer. You then had your choice of either chicken with vegetables or pasta with a mushroom and bacon sauce. Norb and I both had the chicken. For dessert the choices were ice cream or cheesecake. We ordered wine with our dinner. We all thought the food was good, and the service was wonderful! After dinner we walked to 5th Avenue ... The JellyFish lamps ... Some day I'm going to buy one. We walked, and window shopped, and acted like tourists ... I love this barstool ... and, of course, some of us had to try on sombreros ... We stopped at Starbucks for a frappucino, and we just enjoyed the evening. At 10:30 we took taxis back to the hotel and said goodnight.
great Day 2! man, if I would have known (or at least paid attention :? ) I would have gotten you to get me a replacement Playa shirt that I absolutely love that got ruined with something oily that won't come out  We bought it at the corner of 5th Ave and Juarez Ave, the bigger Tshirt/Pharmacy/souvenier shop.   I'm sure they still have the same shirt.
speaking of the jellyfish lighting that you will buy one day.....has anyone ever priced the hand-painted porcelin bathroom sinks? I want to get one on our next trip....
