Does anyone have an update or any further info on the fate of Playa Delfines?

Having not stayed in a Cancun hotel in more than 5 years, Playa Delfines has always been the perfect (AND MOST GORGEOUS) public access beach. Just wondering if there was any more news on this.

Currently my understanding of the situation is, and by no means the final word I'm sure, is that, the local government is working on an agreement with the major condominium project slated for the Lagoon side, that was set to utilize much of the area as a private beach club for their condo owners, to buy the beach properties owned by the Condo Complex Developers back, and provide some type of access area for both the future condo owners and the public, in somewhat of a Soloman approach. The local government was still assuring the public that they would not allow the development of the lots by the Condo Development group at last reports.

Another lot in the group is adjacent to Playa Delphines and is apparently owned by the Mexican owners of the Royal Solaris Hotels, and appears still slated for future development as a Hotel/Resort in the future.

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot...
