Sounds like fun I generally take lots of pictures. For example I took about 300 pics at a new years party a couple years ago LOL. So I'll have plenty of good ones to choose from.

The powershot just has a few extra doo hikies that I hardly use. But the pic quality is the same. upload right to your pc. Wasy as pie. The price at Amazon is 104.00, I could spot you the 4 bucks, if its too much. But I say get it, as an owner of one.
I would recommend the Casio Exilim 7.2 MP camera listed on Amazon.com for $104.95. I have the 6 MP version of this camera and LOVE it. I also had the 4 MP version back in 2005 when I went to Cancun and it was great till someone knocked it out of my hand at Daddy Rocks and the open lense went crashing into the floor. But I've had the one I have now for over a year and I've taken thousands of pics that have turned out great though I paid more than $105 for mine when I got it.
