Pickup lines don't work unless the girl already find you attractive. Otherwise, she'll just think you are really lame. Best ways to approach involves not giving any impression of desperateness at all. You don't want to turn her off before you get a chance to talk to her. Being good looking or confidence helps a lot at the initial approach, unfortunately, not every guy has that. If you have a group of guys and you are all shy, hit on girls for each other. Instead of letting your friend stare at the hotties for 20 minutes and still too afraid to do anything, next time when she is in your approximity, tap her on the shoulder and say "have you met <your friend's name>" and point to your friend like Barnie in How I Met Your Mother. Or point out your friend's grade A ass to girls. It may be counter intuitive because people are more focused on getting themselves laid. But trust me, everyone will be better off this way. 1. You eliminate all the self defeating thoughts in your head of personal approach. 2. Your friend won't come off as desperate or pushy. 3. The girl you help your friends with may have other girl friends. After the initial approach and once you started talking, it's all about how interesting you are. Be funny, be flirty, and learn to dance. Show her a good time and I'm sure she'll show you a good time as well.
