As an eye care professional for the past 36 + years in Massachusetts, it surprises me that many people take this procedure so lightly.....and that many people treat it as if they are buying a used car...!! Or going to a sale at Costco´s.......!! This is serious surgery - the results of which can be catastrophic with life-changing results and I do not mean just 20/20 vision as the intended result.!

When surgeons are offering cash discounts and credit card discounts for brain surgery - let me know - PLEASE!

I have had many of my patients undergo this LASIK procedure with excellent results & with no post-operative complications, but there are so many factors to consider before undertaking this. The least of which should be - the price.....!!

Ask the surgeon how many LASIK procedures he or she has done, how frequently they are done, may I speak with former patients......

The most important advancment has been in the way that the corneal flap is made... Before - an ultramicrotome was used which nothing more than a fancy name for a special razorblade. Results using the blade to make the flap resulted in many complications - the most common, being post-operative DRY EYE, requiring the use of lubricating drops 5-10 times a day. The newest way to make the corneal flap is also by means of a LASER - called the Intralaze - this results in a glassy smooth cut and the need for use of lubricating drops is reduced by 98%........

The reviews for Perfect Vision seem to be consistently good, whatever the procedure chosen. This, and dental care, among other things, are so much cheaper that if one chooses to have these services here, the savings will pay for a holiday or two, as a bonus.

Just wanted to follow up with everyone for the record.

I finally had my PRK surgery a week and a half ago at Perfect Vision. The procedure was fantastic. The doctor is excellent (and speaks English for non-spanish speakers).

I have to admit that my "eye anatomy" in Spanish leaves a lot to be desired!!

    The procedure was 1350 USD.

    Would highly recommend!
