Mine last 2 weeks before chipping. Hold up well to typing, making my bed, laundry, hot tubbing, swimming, sex (can be hard on the nails at times), cleaning. I love them. I use lotion everyday and never have a problem.
there is a acrylic top coat that you can get over your real nails, I would imagine that it can be done over your real painted nails too.
I got a shellac/gel polish put on fingernail and toenails, just so it wouldn't chip and it was perfect. I mixed a dark hot pink/fuschia base with a pink clear glitter on top, looked fab! Used the same mix for fingers and toes, and I've been back for 2+ weeks and my toes are still looking perfect! I love gel polish, just have to be careful with toes because you don't want them to file off your natural nail when removing the polish, so find a place that will spend the time to soak off the polish when removing it. Rather spendy to do all the time, but for this type of trip with lots of time in the pool and on the beach, it is worth it to have perfect polish the entire time with no chips or dull finish! Here is a picture I took showing the perfume I like from Lush for someone, and you can see the nail polish color And here is a picture of my toes, 3.5 weeks after my shellac pedicure - polish is perfect, just grown out a bit
