Had a lovely 5-night visit to Desire Pearl May 8-13 This was not our 1st visit to Pearl, but it was our first visit in several years. We did visit Desire RM late 2024. We are not Premier members. We still felt like VIPs The resort was amazing. All of the staff members were so welcoming. We were given a lovely Junior Suite room with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The room was spacious, much larger than we are used to. We usually book the lower-end rooms at RM and Temptation and this room was phenomenal in comparison. The room had a private balcony, sitting area with a couch, fridge, coffee maker, and other comforts. Interestingly, not a lot of drawer space: only 3 drawers, but lots of other spaces like countertops. The pool was the center point for the daytime. We had no problem getting chairs. Victor and Miguel took great care of us and held the same spots for us each day. The pool activities were fun, the music pleasant. The Playmakers were terrific. We didn't get to meet all of them, but we had the pleasure of meeting Abbylicious, Kia, Matt and Tristan. They did a great job keeping guests entertained and involved. We did not need reservations for any of the restaurants. This was good news as their website said reservations were required. Aphrodite had a buffet for breakfast and lunch, but not dinner. Their a la carte dinner was quite nice, though. We had dinner at Suki one night, and it was a little underwhelming. Our dinner at Pearl (the restaurant) was nice, but the server seemed a little indifferent. Overall the food was OK. A couple of meals at the resort were excellent, but the rest were just good. I wish they had a buffet for dinner. We met some wonderful people from all over, but mostly from the US. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and courteous. I am normally very shy and introverted, so it's always nice to break out of that shell and mingle (while naked!) The hot tub was very nice. The water was hot only 1 of the nights; other nights it was lukewarm. The jets only ran on one of the nights also. Not sure what was up with that. We had lots of great conversations in the hot tub. I love how the pool is circular, with the beds around the perimeter. (Unlike RM, the hot tub is a large rectangular shape, and many of the beds are far removed from it) The beach: ah, the beach. So much sargassum and so little sand. You have to trudge through 10 feet of sargassum, but once you get to the ocean, the waters are quite nice. We didn't spend much time on the beach. Bar service was very good everywhere. The bartenders were quick and efficient. They have Corona and Modelo in cans. There were some minor issues we had; some were resolved, other weren't. They were not major and would not prevent us from booking again. Here are some photos:
