apparently this is not the sake for canadians travelling to mexico this spring break. when on phone with travel agent, passports are only required for canadians if travelling by air to the united states. i thought this was odd, but this is what she told me.
http://www.springbreak.com/index.php/content/view/100/1/ this states that canadians do as well, however, I think its ONLY if you make a stop in the united states, if your flight is direct you might be ok? However, you might want to check!!
americans NEVER needed passports when travelling to mexico or canada and back, NOW we do in order to RE enter our own country. This helps keep unwanted people out............... or at least its suppose to
we will need them by 2008. as it stands now we just need to have a passport to travel into the states by air. if we travel by ground we can still go with birth cert. and drivers license. i asked her like twice and she said no. as well, we have our internal website here at work which states we just need them for the US as of jan 23. we prob do need them if travelling thru the states only.
You do not need a passport when travelling by car over a border but do when travelling by air. That will soon change though
hahaha you can always expedite which means you get it in 2 weeks, but with the rush of travelers, you are looking at a month I bet! Mine is suppose to be here today!!
Yeah I have Friday off. That is when i am getting them back form the doctors and going to stand in the horrendous line
