Passport requirement?

    myekun - I highly suggest that you do so - I think you will find if you show up at the airport without a passport that you will be denied boarding for the trip southbound !! That is one quick way to ruin your vacation

    Even though having a passport is not technically legally required to enter Mexico it is ultimately up to the the airline as to what their requirements are as to what documents are considered acceptable. If you don't meet their (airline) requirements they wont allow you on the plane. You could check with the airline to make sure but most airlines in Canada now require a Passport for travel to Mexico or the US

    My first trip out of the US, in 2003, "just" needed my birthcertificate, and my drivers license......to Jamaica, then when I got home, now hooked on the Caribean, got my passport.....period.....I love looking at it to see the stamps from places we have been! Nothing like having alternative identification sources.....just a fear I have.....so I even got the US passport card......can't have too much Id! :shock:
