Best tips I can give are:
1: sleep in the chair to assure no one else gets it
2: buy some fake vomit and put it on the chair late at night
3: walk up to someone sitting in a chair and start talking. Most likely they will invite you to have a seat.

I have never been to a resort where everyone is so friendly

The hubby gets up at 5 am to secure our chairs and yes we do use them through the day. My husband will really need his since he's having major back surgery in a few weeks. Unfortunately, the doctor staff screwed up the date and pushed the surgery date back a month. No Boobs Cruise for us this year. To dangerous for him. :(

What?! I thought the chairs around the pool where for PREMIER guest only. For the last three years we've been stuck sitting in the hot tubs and on the steps in the pool with all you parting people with the AIWC, the shots and the great conversations when I could have been sitting in the chairs all this time. Wow, April can't come soon enough for me.

Reminds me of one late night at Patty-o's that I asked a British couple about 20 times where they were from, it was hysterical. The next day they were telling everyone about it, so about half the people at the sexy pool would ask me where I'm from every time I passed by....

Easy to find somebody who will let you put your gear under their chair. Dump it off, jump in the pool and proceed to make friends, make more friends, and make friends of those friends.
