Actually, I've been checking out people to make me a palapa, and there's a guy, Julio, who comes in from Leona Vicario, whose work and price is to my liking - very much. But now I'm reconsidering a palapa for a more durable cover made of cement. I'm of two minds: a palapa is an icon here, so for that reason, I prefer it. But it needs replacement to keep it in pristine appearance ever 4 years roughly, correct? I'd like your thoughts, por favor.

I would avoid the palapa at all costs. They look great but, need repair frequesntly and are expensive. If Juilio is in Cancun would love to have him look at mine.
