Hey DaveT Were shuttles to the other palace resorts available when you were there? We're going the end of May and the other couple we're with are going to be doing some of the tours, but we would like to go back to Moon Palace for a day to see how our hurricane shelter turned out...you know, bring back some fond memories we shared with a few thousand other stranded souls...Thanks!
Hey there, Yes, we have been to the Moon Palace twice. It has been 3 years, since we have been there. In July when we are at the Cancun Palace we are planning to visit. Loved the pool, and the BBQ's for lunch. What kind of transportation is avaiable? I want to go now.....
do they have any outdoor restauraunts that give it a "carribean feel?" or is it totally modern now? i was looking forward to the fans and the cool towel you receive upon arrival for some reason =p
The shuttles were running to Moon Palace and Sun Palace twice a day: 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. The only outdoor restaurants were the two pool bars areas. They didn't have a caribbean feel, but sitting under the umbrella eating a cheeseburger, looking at the blue ocean certainly helps one to get into the caribbean state of mind. DaveT

Ralph, I did take a taxi to the Sun Palace on my third night in Cancun. We had family staying there and I spent several hours drinking and dancing in the bar one night. The band was awesome. I did go up to my families presidential suite and it was incredible. Two big rooms connected to a gorgeous dining/living room. The thing that most impressed me about the Sun during my very short visit was their gym. It was loaded with brand new, state-of-the-art equipment. It looked better than most of the Bally's here in Chicago. They said the food was very good. DaveT
Hey Dave T, you asked for comments on the tripadvisor review. We were at the Moon Palace twice. We have always been happy. We did visit the Beach and old Cancan hotel. The workers at the Moon Palace have always stayed in our hearts. Wonderful people. Yes, maybe they had a few things to iron out. Happens..........I am sure they will be. Thanks for all your pictures. That's why we go to Mexico!! AMEN!! Can't wait! I read the review... Just because it was dated 2/24 doesn't tell us when they actually where there. Since Dave was there just after they openened and didn't hint at all that he observed the same problems, I have to think that it was a fluke for that reviewer. It sounds horrific for them unfortunately, but may be an isolated case. Personally, I'm not to worried since I'm not going until 4/20. I certainly hope 2 months from now will be time enough to be completely operational. If not, I'll demand they move me to the Moon at their expense for the difference in price. We are members and that has to count for something! I'm sure Dave will be along soon w/ his take on the whole thing.
