Thanks for all the tips. Shoes are an issue for me, as well. Girls look at footwear. We buy insulated cups each time in the gift shop and take them home with us. And Karen, you are right...usually the clothes that I have not worn are the daytime street clothes. I will cut way back there as we never even leave the resort anymore unless it is to walk across the street for booze. Jeff...do you guys just carry on? That is awesome but sounds a little crazy to me. Safe travels and see you in a few days.
How many pairs of dress pants would a guy need? Could I just get by with one, & a couple of different shirts? Jeans? Nobody probably gives a shit what I'm wearing, so it probably doesn't even matter! How nice do you need to dress for some of the restaurants?
Last time I took one pair of white drawstring linen type pants. We only took carry ons so limited space. I think I wore them once.. We ate supper at the buffet alot. It was just easier and really was always very good. And we loved our waiter and he made it extra fun. I wish they would just relax the long pants rule to nice dress shorts. Long pants are just to hot to wear down there especially in the summer.
There was a discussion about men's attire on the boards back in the fall, with the ladies (and several gents) all saying that the men could stand to step up their game a little in the evening clothes department. Many of the women dress to the nines in sexy outfits for the evenings, while their guys schlepp around in cargo shorts and T-shirts. I think the men should least wear collared shirts at night (button up or polo) instead of logo tees from the local tire shop. I've never met a woman who didn't love linen pants on men. How about linen shorts if pants are too hot in the summer months? Just my two bits.
I agree with the above statement. We always go in February so slacks or jeans in the evening are not too uncomfortable. I don't think jeans are allowed in the restaurants. With that said, I usually only pack one pair of black slacks for Tom but we are staying more nights so I will probably put two this time. Another option to dress it up a little instead of cargo shorts is a nice, well fitted pair of golf shorts with a polo shirt.
You pack for him, can you have a conversation with Jenn? Actually I am the road warrior and expert in packing, so she puts her stuff out and I decide what goes in what suitcase. I packed one pair of dress pants and a nice shirt or two, no one is going to care if you go to the nice restaurants and wear the same pants twice for a total of a few hours. Usually for me I wore shorts and a polo shirt in the evenings, although I am looking for a funny Mardi Gras shirt to wear on that theme night this year.
