If you are there more than a few days bring zip-lock bags for your passports, money and important papers. The humidity is intense and the bags will protect the documents. Place it all in the room safe and your good to go.
Very good idea!!! My luggage always weighs more when we go back because of all the wet clothes... you just can't dry them out!
I know as a man, you never throw anything away, but, this trio i am looking at taking some (old t-shirts underware) that I plan to use once and trash instead of bringing it home.
Might wqant to throw in a couplle of extension cords cause the plugs are never where you need them. Also if you don't want to hual them down, the egg crate mattress covers are available at Walmart. Jamie
I brought straws, they are hard to come by. I also took a big insulated cup for my frozen drinks and the bartender always just filled it up. I wish I had cards with my email address already on them because you meet so many people and you want to keep in touch. I came home with email addresses on napkins and other papers but if you have a notepad or already have yours ready it would be nice. Kristi and Sean
Here's a few items we always bring with us and the list always keeps growing: Travel Mugs, straws, dryer sheets (put in with clothes- keeps them fresh smelling), alarm clock, waterproof watch, cheap fake diamond wedding ring, medicine (asprin, rolaids, & No-Doz), lighter, i-pod, snacks, salt & pepper packs, deck of cards, extension cord, beach tote bag, watersocks, lots of AA batteries  and the basics others have listed. Hope this helps!
i always take 2 copies of my passport and carry one in my wallet and the other in one of my suit cases....just incase the original passport gets lost or stolen.....
We did it with a carry on each. It's warm in Cancun you don't need a lot of clothes, even less at TTR. Don't pack soap, shampoo, underware, (really your in swimsuits so you dont need it) hairdryers are in the rooms. If you really need something buy it at the resort or do without. Do pack an open mind and a have fun attitude.
