It seems to me that what is going on is that TTR is filling up its rooms at its sister resort Sea Adventure by overbooking TTR. That way, the resort company can take more bookings for TTR than it has TTR rooms to provide on given nights, and gets to fill its empty rooms at Sea Adventure instead of turning away TTR customers. The food and the booze quality is lower at Sea Adventure (I know cuz I've been there recently), plus people don't stay up all night drinking because there's nothing going on at night, so sending people there saves them a little money.

This seems like a good deal for the company all around, so why WOULDN'T they try to do this to us?

We got a call from Temptations today, we were booked from April 14th-18th and then off to Desire for 2 nights. They say they don't have us staying overnight on the 18th, and say they are FULL the 18th-21st(even tho you can still reserve a room on TTR & Alpharooms website). We called to verbally confirm just a day or 2 ago...so now we lose a day with all you crazies and have an extra day at Desire. Oh! btw...they reduced our room at Desire from $530 to $430.

Has anyone ever heard of them bumping people out of a jacuzzi room? We booked one and am curious if its just the regular rooms that people get bumped out of or if they over book the jacuzzi rooms as well.

If I worked at TTR, I think I would find a way to confirm who is on Cancuncare and be sure not to bump any of us. It seems crazy to me that they would bump people they know are active on the forums. All their actions do is add to negative posts. Many businesses in the past have tried to exploit their customers and are no longer in business, it is a very slippery slope. Trying to fill their other hotels with TTR guests suggests they open a second TTR, not send TTR guests to a kiddie resort. Maybe they should buy the dumps on either side of the hotel and start expanding.

I think what Glenn has suggested is the right course, stop worrying about possible negatives and focus on all the fun you are soon to be having.

    (April 2nd to 9th)

We were bumped to a different resort when we travelled to Jamaica a few years back. We didn't let it wreck our vacation, we had a great time at both resorts we went to but it would have been a better time if we stayed at our original resort we booked... We never returned to either of these resorts in Jamaica again. I hope we don't get bumped in April, it just puts a sour start to your vacation, and you're already tired after a 7 hour flight to get there it's very easy to get upset when you're getting bumped to a different resort.

Same thing for us when we went to Jamaica but they switched us from a party type resort to a five star golf (older stuck up couples) resort in the middle of nowhere for the entire week. Coat and tie requested for dinner and coverups required for the ladies if not swimming or laying down (good thing given the average age of the women). The only good thing was travel company refunded everything but airfare.
