This is a great point... For folks that get bumped, get whatever incentive the resort is offering and stay the night with someone from Cancuncare... Maybe add something to monthly roll call that says YES I will share my room should you get bumped... Based on the folks from here and the resort I don't think it would be all that difficult finding a place to crash at the resort for the night vs leaving... :cheerleaders:

We also arrived on the same Sat the 17th at around 2pm. Before we got a welcome or anything from the front desk they were already asking if we wanted to go to Desire. We told them no. They then proceeded to tell us that we did not book an ocean view room and that we would have to wait for a garden view room. We showed them our papers which clearly stated ocean view to which they said that is only a request and that all ocean view rooms were occupied. We weren't having any of that so after a bit of arguing we demanded a manager. It took about 30 seconds for her to check the computer and we were told that yes we did book an ocean view and that we had 3 we could choose from. Strange how all of a sudden they became free.
I work in the hospitality industry and overbooking is normal. However at every property I have worked at we "walk" people who paid the least to people that booked with us direct last. My wife and I are going in November so maybe booking on their own site would help? The downside is you don't get the national call center to help you...
I dont think people have to worry about being bumped in November..I recall the same issues last April and think that, March, April, May is the most busy time for them.. well any resort I am sure..
If you do get bumped...how long is it just the one night or the whole vacation?? I would lose my mind if we ended up and a family resort... and I mean lose my mind the last thing I want on vacation are children... don't get me wrong people.. love little people but not when I'm on vacation.. I could handle the one night... but no more than that.. and I don't think a family resort could handle us longer than a night anyways.LOL And your right Monique.. this thread is stressing the hell out of me.
I have never heard of anyone being bumped for more than one night.. and if they bump you ask where they are sending you.. that is where I put my foot down as well, I paid for adult only so find me an adult only..and ill go quietly, after I get my preimier wristband..and or free nights.. and paid shuttle to and from..ahaha!!.. but hey, I dont have to worry cause I am staying with you Deb.. hahah!!
Does anyone know if it makes a difference if you upgraded to the Drops of Love package (jacuzzi room)? I paid $700 extra for this so I would be pissed if they didn't have a room for me.
you'll be safe I'm sure. Kind of like flying first class on a plane, you paid the premium price so you shouldn't have to worry.
