So, we just got back from our sixth trip. We waited excitedly for a long time for our chance to see the new TTR, and overall we are impressed, but wanted to share some of our observations. As you all know by now, the new resort is gorgeous. The lobby, the new pool, the lighting, the ambiance -- nearly everything is prettier and more modern than before. They really did a nice job with that. Unfortunately, however, they often chose form over function in many respects. Some thoughts: We thought the Sexy Pool was too deep at first, but quickly got used to it. The water is, however, somewhat cooler. The new sound system at Bash is excellent, and the lighting is cool. The party now goes on till after 2:30am. You can hear the music from Bash from nearly every corner of the resort. Not a problem for us, but may be for some. We were worried about security being too strict. Not at all. In fact, we found them to be very discrete and professional, and even when there was an issue they wanted to address, they handled it in such a way that nobody came away feeling bad about it. And overall, they were super relaxed about "the rules". Food sucked before, and it's not much better now. There is ZERO chance that it could be considered 4.5* dining. If a restaurant in the US served steaks that were as poor as those in the steakhouse, it would go out of business. The bacon is a little better though.. There are now 8 porn channels, and the cost was $10 per stay. Not bad at all. Service -- This is where the new TTR gets close to its 4.5* aspirations. Service was good before, but it is downright excellent now. Whether in the restaurants, the bars, the playmakers, wherever, everyone looked happy to be working there. We were very pleased with this. And now I'll get to our #1 biggest complaint about the new TTR: the seating at Bash and around the pool bars. I have no idea if anyone from management sat in any of these seats before making the decision to use them, but there is not a single thing comfortable about any of them. On the fixed flat round stools by the pool bars and Bash bar, the edges are way too sharp and will dig into your thighs. The plastic hightop seats at the tables at Bash are a joke, and there is no way an adult can be expected to fit in one. And then the lounge chairs at Bash are simply a masochist's wet dream. If the idea was for nobody to sit down and relax anywhere, I guess they accomplished their mission. Otherwise, they need to get rid of them all and start fresh. In the end, overall, we feel that the remodel is a definite success. We loved the old TTR, and we still love the new one. We don't go for the amenities, however, and we were pleased to find that the party was still at or maybe even above where it was before. So, after giving our livers some time to recuperate, we will start planning our next trip!

Thanks for the report, and glad to hear of the improvements. The steaks at a Mexican steakhouse being bad is not a big surprise, but I'm glad the bacon is great. It seemed obvious that whoever picks out furniture has some issues starting with the red cloth chairs that they added to Pady'Os a few years. ago. Some things take a while to change!
Your remarks are spot on mate. The damn stools on the swim up bar are no better. We agree, the vibe has improved. It seems that topless at Bash is encouraged, all is great.
Thanks for the info. The uncomfortable seating seems to be a recurring thing in reports. Maybe they will fix them. 6 days til Beer, Boobs, and Bash!!
