OT: Other favorite Caribbean resorts?

Hard Rock at Punta Cana, Domincan Republic is absolutley fantastic! Adults on one side kids on another.. Great all adult pool! We like to go to only all adult resorts, but this one was awesome. We stayed in the all adult areas and it was just fine.

 

There are a couple of resorts in Jamaica besides Hedo...we stayed at the Grand Lido in Negril, nice enough a clothing optional side and very very laid back, it was a very nice resort not super luxurious but nice. If you want a little more upscale Couples Negril is very nice as well...laid back great beach 420 everywhere if that matters, a little more pricy but very nice! The other chains that we have been happy with are Excellence and Secrets...both are more upscale & adult only, and there are quite a few locations to suit...hope that helps a little!

 

Grand Lido is closed and will be demolished and a new family friendly resort will go up. Thats what Ive read.

Too bad. Thats where we were planning on going if we went to Jamaica.

Never been to Jamaica. First thing I noticed when shopping for deals is....there are none. Jamaica is more expensive than Mexico.

 

We love Valentin Imperial Maya. AI adults only south of Cancun. Not a TTR vibe but good for relaxing.

 

Hedo 2 and Couples Negril in Jamaica get my vote, as well as the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. You can pay for VIP wristband at ME that gets you access to adults only pools and some other nice perks.

 

Not adult only but Moon Palace is pretty great. The Grand side is very quite and not many kids. The place is so huge you can always find a spot at the pool or get away from the crowds if you want.

 

Our first trip to Mexico was to ME Cancun (also known as "ME Cancun")

It wasn't adults-only, but there was nothing for kids to do. It was listed as "adult-oriented"

The resort is gorgeous, every inch of the property is luxurious. The staff was super-friendly. I don't remember the food, but I dont think I had any complaints about it.

It felt like we were staying in an art museum, not a resort.

It had a fun vibe, but not every night. In fact, we were kind of bored most nights. Luckily we found Temptation, and the rest is history!
