I only scared the ones who don't have a sense of humor.

Honestly, I've read so many accounts of what the orange bands mean.......and I still have no actual (concrete) idea of what that is.

The really funny thing is......to "some", my fictitious account is probably spot-on.

If my attempt at humor offended you..........please accept my apologies. If it didn't, drop by and say "hi", anyway.

As the guy who came up with the idea in the first place, I can tell you that the wrist bands were originally intended to be an identifier for CancunCare members. The color orange was chosen because the word Cancun in the logo is orange. After the idea got rolling, someone suggested the Xs because they had been on a cruise where that had been used. Perhaps that is where some of the different interpretations came in, but the original idea, that it identifies CC members is what most people use it for. Add the Xs if you want. It's all in the archives if you want to check it out. There are even websites listed where you can get them on line.

You know, the only reason they don't work so well is cause there isn't a simple place to get them. Many don't like to use eBay, and it's a lot of work to find them. If we get an ok from steve, I can order a bunch and people can just buy them...I would do it for cost-ish.

Last year when the idea started, Steve said the same thing. The problem is distribution. Last December, Jessie bought a bunch of them and handed them out to members as they arrived, there was a large group and he did a good job of getting them out. Sending them ahead of time is almost impossible. I don't see how that can be done. The best strategy is to keep in touch here on the site and if someone finds a bunch, have them bring them and hand them out.

We found a bunch at a local party store for .25 a piece (they all have a word on them like "Dreamer" "Angel" and "Star") but relatively nice orange bands. We were gonna bring about 20 or so with us just to give out (May26 - June2)

The ones I had were the rubber type (Lance Armstrong kind). The ones Jessie had were the plastic kind that snap together. Orange- wrist band- it works.
