We were in room 2312 overlooking Paty O's and our font door was crooked on the hinges allowing at least a 1" gap at the top of the door. There was virtually no buffer for sound. At home I normally enjoy a good 8 hour sleep and even with all the noise we still managed to get a fair amount of rest. Dont worry about sleep. When your body demands it, its amazing what you DONT hear.
Don't forget the clocks spring ahead in Cancun this weekend!!!! Means we are losing an hour of our vacation....and we all know every hour is a precious one!!!!! :lotsofmichaelfs:
Agreed!! We were in 2212 last year and normally at home I can't sleep with TV or radio in the background...but when you are THAT tired, you're body just sleeps, no matter what noise is around!
It's all about perception of noise. People who we met complained about rooms that faced the road, saying it was noisy, others that had rooms near Nice Shoes also complained this was too loud. We had a room on ground floor, right next to Paty O and it did get pretty loud. However, it was so convenient for everything, and could use your own bathroom instead of the communal ones. You get used to the noise pretty quickly. I would much rather have a noisy room on the ground floor, than a quiet room on the top floor! We were crashing about 1am - 4am most days, but we had a few where I couldn't keep my eyes open past 11pm after partying all day. Next trip I'll pay more attention to what entertainment is on for which days, and make sure I'm awake for days the band plays and white night (days the music was loudest and went on the longest) to ensure it doesn't bother me. BTW, beach party (on Saturday I think) and the night they had tables set up outside (Monday I think) it was relatively quiet around Paty O, but noisier for those who had rooms near the quiet pool.
Contact Expedia and pay the extra $27/night for an ocean view room, you will more than likely be put in Building 1, where it is quiet.
