Make sure she sees a doctor upon arriving US. My nephew was also bitten by a monkey in a preserve in Mexico (also unprovoked) and had to receive rabies shots, and that was while he was still IN mexico. More than likely she will need them as well. Actually I would almost insist on them. The only way to test the offending animal for rabies is to kill it and test it's brain matter. I highly doubt that was done.

What are the chances of that?? you are walking enjoying the night, next thing you know a freaking monkey is attacking your face. my question is who was spanking the monkey?? On a serious note I hope she is ok now... note to self stay away from monkeys..
