Steve, I listened to it. Excellent interview, good points made.

Events have moved a bit since your interview, i.e. first death in the US.
Also since the interview, pandemic level is inching up.

I guess we will wait and see.

As I understand it, yes, it does take that long to analyze. The samples have to be sent to a lab that can id Swine Flu. There are no labs at all in Mexico which can do this. So there's is a longer turn-time to confirm cases in Mexico than in the US or other places with better medical infrastructure.

Ok, I may have to leave Texas and go to Mexico to get away from the Pig. Now we are closing schools in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. We are planning to go if the airlines will take us. Hoping it is just a media scare.

Swine flu: wall of silence in Mexico's Cancun holiday resort
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/s...silence-in-Mexicos-Cancun-holiday-resort.html

"As The Daily Telegraph discovered, questions to hotel workers about the virus are generally simply ignored as if they haven't been heard or, if pursued, countered with the claim that it hasn't yet reached Cancun. "

"He said that when he once asked a concierge at a $288-a-night hotel about the bag of masks on his desk, he quickly moved them under a table and said they were for staff. "

"Many [tourists] were shocked to hear that a large proportion of foreigners afflicted by the virus, including 20 New York students and a Scottish couple, fell ill after visiting Cancun. "

provided WITHOUT personal comments. Do not shoot the messenger please. This is from Telegraph a HIGHLY respected UK newspaper.

stevesteve-i thought that you were going to log off and stay away from this forum for a while. All these posts by you the non expert re the swine flu are getting to be annoying. You seem to make comments and have interest in pushing your blog and I truly think that is why you are here to make blog entries to make like you are well informed.

I am simply quoting respected newspapers. You can quote respected newspapers, too. I am not pushing any blogs. A lot of people have a little sig line big deal. I get 1% of my traffic from this blog, big deal.

NOW WRITE SOMETHING, QUOTE SOMETHING, Don't make it personal, bro.

If you cannot write anything useful, quoting some respected sources, the rest is opinion, dime a dozen.

If you have a fight with Telegraph UK (with their reporter in Cancun) get into ring with them. As I said in my post, don't shoot the messenger.

We have it in Chicago too. They shut down an elementary school about a mile from my house.
