Just wondering Steve......Looks like the 17th has the highest count of peeps atleast on this post.... While the 19th works just wondering?? :huh:
Thing is I have to look at the whole picture. The 17th does have the most people in this thread with 17 people. But 17 would still be 8 short of our minimum to run. The 19th only has 3 fewer than the 17th (in this thread) which isn't sufficient to base a date on this thread alone. I look at the roll call, threads like this and also a ton of PM's and emails I receive requesting specific cruise dates or ranges. I look at peoples arrival and departure dates and consider who probably wants to cruise with who. I also have to consider the cruise immediately before and the cruise immediately after, and also the cruises before that and the cruises after that. If we run too close together then we just split the group, and if we run too far apart people miss out. The frequency depends on the season and has to be adapted to suit that too. For example if we ran the 17th instead of 19th (given a rough 5 day apart cycle) would the 12th and the 22nd be good dates to run? My assessment suggested not. We've got requests for the 14th and the 25th. The 17th would be too close to the 14th and too far from the 25th, the 19th would hopefully still be well supported and lie in the middle between two other popular dates. I do look at the dates very carefully, I actually spent about 3 hrs on it today. We've been doing this a long time and when we have potentially 300 people a month we are not going to be able to hit everyone's preferred date perfectly. I'd rather folks consider going a day or two earlier or later than their preferred date (at least then it is their choice) than have others miss out altogether because we don't have a cruise at all during their stay.
