Brent, How dare you apply rationale thought and reason when describing TTR management . even though they should accommodate us, I highly doubt they will. But this is usually something that money solves. Kyle, if you need help in coordinating this part of the trip, let me know. I am happy to help.
You are probably right, but it is fun to imagine that this group has grown to a size that would compel management to be more accommodating. We will find a way to have a blast regardless!
Count us in for the toy exchange. On that note, Can anyone just mail me a toy before October? One of Trav's friends who had this same surgery came over to hang our over the weekend and said he hasn't been able to have sex in 8 weeks!!!!!! This was horrible to hear. :-( :-( :-( :-( F. M. L.
Alpha rooms is showing $170 per night for two nights 7-9th but $233 per for three. That just means the hotel is more booked after the 10th. Book two at the $170 and a third at the 233. Should even out a bit Frank
Ha, very true. For those that don't know here is some history... - last year we rented the cigar bar. They charged $10 a person (or maybe it was couple, I can't even remember, time to go back and read the trip report). We estimated 20 people and I paid $200 up front and then collected from people. They had a bartender with a stocked bar and basically turned on the lights for us. I can't recall how long we did it for. I think an hour and then we convinced them to stay another 30 mins. The problem was then people got word of mouth and an additional 26 people showed up or just rambled in. So then the resort tried to charge me another $260. I collected from some of the newbies, others got mad at me for asking and left and then I also negotiated the amount down, but we were still in the hole, some of the regulars helped me cover the extra expense. End result is while it was nice to have the space it turned into a stressful experience instead of a fun one. - when at Pearl in May I worked thru a food and beverage manager and the butlers they have there. We had a party in our penthouse with somewhere around 40 or so people. The hotel brought a full bar with 2 bartenders up and did a full buffet and brought a speaker for music. It was insane. I counted 20 different people working the party in one way or another at some point. They charged me, get this, $200 total for all of that! Just amazing. Of course I tipped each of the 20 people so it got pricey but it was worth every penny and everyone had an amazing time. - this year, especially with our increased numbers, I think it is worth trying the cigar bar again or another location in advance (if the resort recommends another place), even if we get upgraded to an ocean suite, although more intimate, it won't be enough space for everyone. The hope is with more planning it will work out better and the premier office that helped me last year recommended planning further in advance the next time. So what I have done so far... - emailed my 'friends' at Pearl asking for front desk and food/beverage contacts at TTR - emailed Premier contacts at TTR asking for front desk and food/beverage contacts at TTR explaining our group and what we would like TTR to do for us and why we think it should be covered - emailed Steve asking if he has contacts (I think he is on vacation now though) I heard back from the Premier contacts at TTR who gave me the guest services contact info. I then emailed her about booking something for Oct 6th 8-10:30pm. We can adjust the timing later if need be. Saying we are over 100 people at the resort in a time that not usually is too busy (mentioned that I would expect their capacity levels to be higher that week if you compare to other weeks, I know the management has access to those so they can check). Would expect maybe 60 at the event. And that we want to come back year after year if you treat us well. Gave them price comparisons for what I was charged at Pearl (hoping worse case they would match it) but also saying we would appreciate it being covered. Will let you all know how it goes.
