Ah Ha!.....I've tasted it many times at TTR. I guess I should have figured that out. LOL....Yes, I am a real blonde.
My theory is, it is okay to have those "blonde" (eventhough I am not blonde) moments because we are cute!!! All you have to say after you've discovered your mistake is "but I'm cute" - M
In response to Hannah's question: *Very* surprisingly, neither Trav nor I have ever fell victim to the 1st day curse, and neither of us have ever prayed to the porcelain gods of TTR. *pat on the back for us* What I find that works: (1) having a little bit of food in your stomach early into your drinking day is key. Brunch/lunch is VITAL and cannot be forgotten. (2) Stick to the alcohol that you know. For me, this is rum. Whenever I get enticed into drinking something else, I always pay the price. (3) PACE YOURSELF. This is the one that Trav has problems with. Start slow - the days at TTR are LONG days when you start drinking around 10am and continue nonstop for about 18 hours.
This little body can handle plenty, but thanks for the offer my Darling! Afterall, i wont be drinking with my mother, so i should be fine, she is my hangover cryptonite. I have a few strategies I am planning to adhere to, and a SNAP is definitely one of them, Darin and Melissa! Glad to know others will be alternating water and alcohol too. That's the easiest way to avoid a hangover in my experience. Though when mid party, water is usually the last thing I WANT to drink, I know I NEED it.
When I go to the bar at Patyo's I'll bring back a tray full of water and make sure everyone gets one.
After seeing all those empty cups on his private area I would think that Travis doesn't get hangovers easily.
Thank you both for the kind words. On to the fun stuff... The best thing you can give a wife of 3+ kids is the opportunity to sleep in. We know the feeling. We used to alternate after a long nights out partying but now it is just too much for 1 of us to handle while hungover so we both get up and try to tag team the 3 little buggers, uhm, I mean angels. Good work Mr. Mac though. However, sleep in to noon is pretty extreme though . I think Mr Mac deserves a reward for that! As for the 1st day curse, it has gotten Jen both times. I manage to avoid it. Our advice would be to not drink on the plane ride down or in the airport or on the way to the resort (I know it is difficult to hold off with all the excitement). Wait until you hit the sexy pool. We usually start our journey around 4am EST and I usually make it to 4am cancun time so that is over 24 hours. I would rather be able to join the pool fun AND the nighttime fun rather than tire out around dinner time. Jen is pretty tiny so although she follows this philosophy the first day she doesnt usually make it too late. This past trip we took full advantage of shots at the pool day 1 so that did her in. As for SNAP, we are the type that a nap usually results in not getting back up so we managed to get our daily evening sex in but no naps. Worked out pretty well. Instead we would do sex and hot tub in the evening with a couple nice cocktails to hold us off until dinner time. Sleeping is meant for 4am - 9am in Cancun.
Food is also a MUST for me. If I drink on an empty stomache I literally fall apart. I will eat a full 3 meals a day to avoid the porcelain throne at all costs. Also, I have found that a banana before bed on days when you have been drinking alot helps tons, I will just grab a couple from the breakfast bar each day and take them back to my room.
