If this week goes as fast as when you are there it will feel like you are leaving tomorrow. we will look for you on the 30th. what time do you get in we will look for you with drinks in hand ?
Yeah it is tough fitting in kids bday parties, kids soccer games, poker night, football, drink training, weight training, mowing, seeding the lawn AND posting to cancuncare! But this should be a fun week of pre-trip excitement. We did get a package from yandy yesterday (sheer night backup outfit, white night outfit) and one from bikinibeach. Cant wait to see them. Now we just need the toy package to arrive.
Gah!!! We are dying to board our plane and we still have 10 days! We have just about crossed everything off our lists and then some. All that's left is a few things that can be picked up at local shops! We literally feel like we have been infected by the cancun coma, it's so hard to think of anything else!!! I'm sure you ALL can sympathize!
Yeah, the next two weeks are going to drag by at work! At least we all have this thread to ease the wait.
So now that we are getting close some things we forgot or learned last trip that I wrote down to be sure I didn't forget this trip. A lot has been said before but good reminders for octoberbreasters. Double the suntan lotion you normally bring. We usually bring 1 30, 1 15 and a small face 50+. We ran out of the 30 and 50 and had to buy another across the street at $30!!! You can bring 1 liter of alcohol each into the country. For us it was actually cheaper in the philly airport than the cancun airport. So buy a liter each of your favorite alcohol and carry it on. If you get it in advance then obviously you have to pack it as you can't bring it thru security. Bring something to put on a chair in the morning to reserve it. A tote bag, unique shirt, unique towel, etc When you play the chair game, which is wake up at 7something to reserve one (I know it stinks) it prevents confusion/controversy later when coming back at 9ish to use it. Lip balm. Like in any tropical destination good to have. Dryer sheets. Gets rid of that musty smell in the room. With all the rain they got the last couple weeks might be extra useful. Whatever you use for hangovers/to keep hydrated. I get pediolyte dry packs. Mix it with the bottled water before bed and maybe an aspirin and usually I don't have a horrible hangover the next day and can do it all over again. Guys, pants for dinner, how strict they are seems to come and go but typically the rule for Italian and Asian is must wear pants (slacks, kackys or jeans). Why risk it. I have seen some get by with shorts and others not. Plus with the ladies dressing up why can't we? Tip money. It is a pain to get change down there in usd and all staff is fine with usd. We bring 100 1's, 100 5's, 100 10's, and $55 for USA transfer payment and the exact amount for the cruise (can't remember that amount off the top of my head) then we has tip on top from the tip fund. Print off the October roll call. Always helpful to have a screen name and pic with you for those days where you see someone who looks familiar but you are not sure. Gives you that confidence to go up and say hey are you Jen&kyle from CCC? Lets do a shot! Ps. Feel free to add to it. I am stuck in all day meetings the next 3 days. I need this site to carry me thru it!
He means $100 worth of each bill. Same thing we did last year. I even made it easy on myself by putting the money in separate envelopes. I put $55 plus tip in USA Transfers, cruise money, tips/spending money in each one. Then when we hit the airport I just pulled out the envelope instead of a wad of cash.
