Thanks for all of the great input everyone! Matt and I were really excited to step out of our comfort zone and try out something new like this. And I really appreciate your advice, Amy! I think it's important to bring options to see how you're feeling that night. I'm sure my husband won't appreciate that advice when he ends up carrying the 2 extra suitcases of "options" I bring though! I've noticed most of the conversation has to do with what the ladies will be wearing on these theme nights. Any advice for how guys should participate?
My participation basically consists of checking out the ladies and realizing that nobody is really looking at me anyway so I could be in a pink elephant costume and nobody would notice lol That being said I do have a red shirt for red night, a white shirt and glow sticks for white night and something for Lingerie night. I know, the sheer volume of my participation is staggering. Ali has an outfit (if you can call a few ounces of material an outfit) for each night we're there.
I have to agree with Andrew. In the past, I have participated in Mardi Gras night, white night, and Lingerie night. Typically, the mens' participation during theme nights consists of showing our appreciation for all the hard work the ladies put into looking good.
Last year, Trav boycotted theme nights in principle. He is no really a 'theme night' kind of guy. He kind of scoffed when I did special shopping/packing for them. He did appreciate it once we were down there, though! The only theme night that he participated in was Lingerie night- which he wore a pair of - ladies, hang onto your hats! - Hanea boxers. This year he has requested that I buy a pair of 'sexy boxers' for him... And I'm not sure exactly what he means so I am using my best discretion. So, to make a long story short, theme nights are typically all about the ladies.
I enjoy participating. On white night I wore a nice white club shirt and white linen pants with nothing underneath except some strategically placed glow sticks. check out our album for a pic or two but we don't take many pics so they are not the best. We brought lots of glow items and shared with others. Was fun. That is our first night this year so not sure how coherent I will be at that point but hopefully we make it. Then for red and black night I will likely wear a nice club shirt. And I just realized I might as well participate in sheer night. Anyone see anything out there for guys? And I don't mean mesh with huge holes This is what I wore for Lingerie night (partially, I had to hide from jens cousin, long story)... PPU Men's Bare Sides Brief:Amazon:Clothing Now of course I don't look anything like that model in them. And sadly we will be missing Lingerie night this trip
Ali has a picture of you and those glow sticks! I believe they are in the shape of a flower? Hopefully no cousin on this trip, although it sounded like she lightened up once you guys left lol
Believe me. I agree with that. But all about the ladies in my case means she wants me to look nice too . Of course we are talking entirely different levels here.
