exactly!....the only difference between Islam and Christianity is a couple hundred years of sane secular influence.
I suggest that you might want to do a google search on Mormonism and read the Wikipedia write up about the religion. I think you may find that most of what you said about Mormonism is just plain wrong. However, it seems like you dislike Romney for his definition of God which leads us to our current President who believes he IS God. We are beginning to have to deal with the first vestiges of Obamacare and this thing is a real treat in so many ways. The cost of it will be far more than its proponents have stated. It will literally put such a strain on health care providers that there will be dire shortages of anyone to provide health services. The way to resolve health care is to provide more qualified physicians, reduce malpractice claims and make people accountable for their own health issues. Obamacare does just the opposite. Now here's another little facet of Obamacare that no one has noticed. Under the new tax laws those that earn over $450,000 will be subject to a total tax bite of as much as 56%. In other words, for every dollar they make they will lose more than half of that dollar. Now most my clients who fall into that earnings capacity just happen to be doctors. What's their attitude about losing more of their income? Quite simply they will reduce their hours. There is no incentive to work more and bring home less, so they will just simply cut back. So here's the bottom line. We are going to dump something like 35 million people into a system that is already overloaded and we are giving incentive to those who provide medical services to not provide those services. All this at a cost that will put us even further into debt than we already are. Exciting prospect, isn't it?
Universal Healthcare, where it works, does not include private insurance companies and fees for services, medical supplies and pharmaceuticals prices are regulated. The current system in American is far too expensive. The average cost is 8000.00 per person annually and up to 15,000.00 in some counties. Alberta has the highest cost in Canada at 3,500.00 annually. You have a system that is regularly doing unnecessary procedures because it is profitable. The costs are inflated to feed extraordinary profits. Many people are financial ruined by the onset of illness or disease. Others cannot get the treatment they need because they can't afford it or are disqualified. No-one has a perfect system and there are challenges and decisions to be made. I think there are countries doing better than us, in Canada, and we need to learn from the and adapt. You guys were inundated with a massive campaign of lies. "Death Panels" and that somehow a private for-profit insurance company has your best interest in mind when they decide what treatment you are getting. The insurance company lobby is extremely powerful. What you have ended up with is a "compromise" that I don't see as sustainable. It's perplexing to many outsiders. In a country where, "I don't agree with what you are saying but I'll fight to the death for your right to say it". A country where soldiers will risk their lives to make sure a fallen comrade returned home for burial. A country that is incredibly generous in coming to the aid of disaster victims all over the world. Yet this same country says to it's fellow citizens, "Hey, I'm covered...you're on your own. Poor? Pre-existing condition? Disabled and unable to find work? Tough luck.".
Yes we are incredibly generous to countries all over the world and not just during times of disasters. However I believe most Americans would prefer to scale down that aid and start taking care of our own. Unfortunately we don't have much say in that. Goverment and big business make those decisions for us.
well, if the Republicans wern't controlled by crazy people we wouldn't even have Obama as President and IF the Republicans had not ignored the real problem of Health Care and Health Insurance costs then maybe we would have a better plan now...but they didn't. If fact, Republicans did nothing. They were too busy worrying about who other people were having sex with. Now, as for Mormanism. Everything i said about their beliefs is true ..in fact it just scratches the surface of the complete idiocy. And Mitt Romney really believes and bases his life on the ramblings of a 19th century con man.....
Bruce, I don't deny that we need to do something to reform health care. The current system does not work and I do not see it getting better. One of the major issues with Obamacare is that it is something we really can't afford right now. Adding Obamacare into our current spending mess just adds to what may become a perfect storm. If you look to when our healthcare started to spiral out of control you'll see that it seems to have pretty much coincided with the advent of Medicare. Medicare was the beginning of a medical system that had no accountability. The patient, who used to go to the doctor only when they were truly sick, could now go just because they didn't feel well. The doctor who personally knew his patients was now faced with an overloaded schedule and no time to really spend with his patients. The government just simply wrote the checks with no concern about the necessity of the procedures. I don't know what the perfect system is. I'm sure that there is a system out there that would work better than what we have and would be more cost effective than what we are heading into. I have heard mention of the system they Swiss use as being one that may work here. After tax season I'll have to do some research on their system and see what it has to offer. I can see that Obamacare is just going to be one very, very expensive mess.
want proof that the Republicans are controlled by complete morons? ...here is a report form the gallup news service. I'm sorry but the Republican Party I once belonged to no longer exists. We are now stuck with a party of true imbeciles as the only alternative to Obama....so as much as I don't like Obama the majority on the other side really does believe that praying to non exisent entities is the answer and that it really doesnt matter anyway because that non existent being will protect America as long as we control the sex lives of our fellow citizens. That is not hyperbole or exageration. Majority of Republicans Doubt Theory of Evolution More Americans accept theory of creationism than evolution by Frank Newport GALLUP NEWS SERVICE PRINCETON, NJ -- The majority of Republicans in the United States do not believe the theory of evolution is true and do not believe that humans evolved over millions of years from less advanced forms of life. This suggests that when three Republican presidential candidates at a May debate stated they did not believe in evolution, they were generally in sync with the bulk of the rank-and-file Republicans whose nomination they are seeking to obtain.
The biggest crisis we face is the rising cost of healthcare, simply due to the advent of new technology and treatments. It's great to have MRI's, hip replacements, by-pass surgury, etc. but they cost a lot of money. The percentage of healthcare cost to GDP has risen dramatically since the introduction of universal healthcare in Canada. I agree that the timing of healthcare reform in the U.S. was not the best. And with the current costs maintained I don't see how it can be affordable. In principle, if we are all paying a premium towards healthcare and a strong majority are healthy then the sick can be cared for. And it's there for you if and when you need it. Obamacare is far to complicated with too many players and too high a cost to work, in my opinion.
And the vast majority of Democrats believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny....at least that's the way they vote.
