I stayed here 2 years ago its a good hotel. Best to get a sea view/pool view room. Food gets repetitive but that seems to be the case everywhere

I have always stayed at the oasis playa and thought it was good for the money. Now that they have renamed it the "Grand" Oasis Playa and raised the prices, I am going to stay somewhere else. The price range it is in now has some hotels that are way nicer.

    Grand oasis playa may 2007

I see no one has posted about the grand oasis playa in a while so thought i would.just came back 05/26/07 and over all had a wonderfull time.
Let me get the bad out fo the way first 1.the gift shop is way way over priced stay away if you can.2, lots of steps its sits on a hill and not over all set up for the handicap.now for the good wonderfull beach lots of room and shade.the pools are lagre and thare are 4 in all.the food was as good as any place ealse we have stayed in cancun.and the bed was the softest.now for the so so service thay do seem slow at times(but remember your in mexico).thare is no entertainment,no night life none of the BBG fun you read so much about.but that was good for us we just wanted to relax.the only other thing is some rooms have a strong smell of mold(the first room thay gave us did)but thay moved us asap to a new room and all was well.so go drink and enjoy.oh all so thay do get pushy about you seeing a time share, just be a little firm.

It is about 5 minutes ride on the bus. Not really walking distance.
