Looking for someone to give a landlocked Canadian some perspective on how IDA can effect Cancun. If Ida passes with winds of ~60mph how much does that effect the city?Is it localized flooding and blown over trees? Or is it more involved? I am not scheduled to leave until Wednesday to come down but since I am raised in a place where storms last only for an hour or so I have a hard time putting this into perspective. Thanks! And I will get back to working on my weather machine to zap this thing out of the sky in the meantime.
Hard to say exactly what it will mean to Cancun...til it happens. It might just be a wind/rain event but after the storm passes the outer bands can produce alot of rain :cry: for days. The storm could get stronger in the gulf and who knows where it's going to go next. Some of the paths in the models show it coming to Florida's west coast..where the love of my life (Romeo, a beautiful :lotsoflove: Bichon Frise) will be stranded at a Pet Resort in my absence. Flights might be cancelled(esp. from Florida), depending on what happens with the storm. Orbitz just sent me an email to this effect. :? It really sounds like they don't have any idea about what's going to happen :evil: with this one.
we're going baby!! Just booked for 14th - 22th. 2nd time for moi, bringing a born again single buddy who needs to get away! Too bad we'll miss singles week but I'm sure we'll have good time. Any advice - I was there solo several years ago and had a huge time!
