only have one life to live that gets shorter everyday, must enjoy ourselves to the fullest and have as much fun as possible, can't buy back the times that I mist.... ESCALADE, it's not the resort your at, more about the people, some of them when combine alcohol and drugs are just plain stupide.... It's my vacation, so I make sure I have as much fun as possible and don't let these fools bother me..... although a hell of a wake up call for 04:30 LOL
I have to say that the fact that alcohol is a legal drug and all inclusive in the vacation I wonder why someone would take the chance with the other stuff in a country that does not have the same laws, basic freedoms, tolerances, level of transparency with their legal and penal system and even human rights as where you hail from. Just say NO! (and when you get back home, bake yourself to your heart's content if you so choose... a general statement and not really intended for the OP)
I did get sick enough on my last trip to TTR to need to go to the emergency room. I can't say enough good things about the Amerimed Hospital Downtown. Clean, efficient, quick and worked seamlessly with my insurance so I didn't have to pay what I am sure was an enormous bill. The nurses had some trouble with English but the doctors (I actually got to see 2!) were fluent. What you are saying about Jamaica is just another reason for me not to go there! I never get offered drugs on or off resort, I must look straight edge. Kurt got them offered every 10 steps in Playa Del Carmen and prostitutes when he wandered a bit away from me. Our last trip to TTR we had one of the Ocean View Temptation suites on the 3rd floor. Every time we opened our window the guys down below at the docs were ready to sell us weed or anything else we wanted. I almost wanted to buy some cigars from my window just to see how they would get them up to us. hehe.
We were never offered drugs off the resort, but were offered them by people who were guests at TTR. I've never tried the stuff and never will, so a simple no thank you was all that was needed and they moved along.
We have been to Jamaica a couple of times and I need to say the Jamacian hospitality was amazing. On one trip we went on a tour to the Appleton rum factory and the bus stopped just outside of Lucea and we grabbed some lunch at a small bakery. We were asked by a young boy of about 10 years old if we wanted 'bob marley'. I asked him why he wasn't in school and he told me his mom owns the bakery and he is a self made wealthy man. I had to ask him how old he was...he said 12. I was shocked. We went for a walk on the road between resorts in the Negril area and we lasted for less than 10 minutes....every 5-10 feet we were being offered every kind of drug for sale. Jamaica is a beautiful island with some amazing people and culture......however, I prefer Mexico, especially TTR!!!
