Hello there IB... My wife and I are very similar to you. We love cruising too, we will be on a 7 day western caribbean in the end of February. After reading this forum for months I convinced my wife to give Temptations a try last October. I must say we had the time of our lives and plan on making this an annual trip. I believe if we didn't have the Feb. cruise booked prior to going to Temptations, we would be heading back there next month. We are early birds too, and maybe made it up to midnight once. It did not take away anything from the great time we had while awake and partying. It certainly is different than cruising, I must say the biggest difference is the people. I am not saying the the folks on cruises are not friendly, but the people who are at Temptations just take friendly to a new level. You will have a blast, maybe someday we shall meet at the sexy pool, or the Lido deck. Best wishes, Paul
We too end up in bed earlier than one would thing you should. Our daily goal is to at least make it untill the 11:00 burgers at Patio's. I guess all day drinking and more shots than you can count at the sexy pool wears on a person come 10 pm. I've come to terms with it, being from North Dakota we are there for the sun anyhow I can party in a bar anynight here.
Unless you love a sales pitch for "special member privledges", skip the breakfast and escorted trip around the resort. After check-in, they will send you to a desk just off the lobby. A very nice person will give you info about the resort and then try to get you to commit to the tour. Take the info and skip the tour. If you like it as much as I think you will, you can always take the tour on your second trip. Larry
Also, go to the Temptation web site and work through it until you find the early check-in form and fill it out. That way your info will be there when you get to the front desk.
I would say that the biggest mistake is worrying about making mistakes. think about your comfort zone. Now go past it. Shy? Go talk to somebody. Afraid of being out of age group? (Too young or too old) Then go talk to somebody of a different age. Afraid of being made a spectacle of in one of the games? Then get your ass in there and get involved. Yes you will be made a spectacle of, but you'll learn that it's ok. Just get involved at all costs. And for the single folk out there: Afraid of getting shot down? Then make it a goal. I am going to get shot down by at least 5 girls today. Don't rest until you accomplish it. Find new and exciting ways to get shot down by girls. See if you can set new speed records. See if you can get shot down by a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead in the same day. have fun with it. And guess what, pretty soon you won't get shot down anymore.
If you get there sometime in the AM, you can be sure that you won't have a chair at the sexy pool. We sat on the beach (about 10am), sipped on a fruity drink. While we waited for our room to be ready, I could hear all the excitement at the sexy pool, so I decided that we should go and have a peak. We get in the water, and 2 minutes later,we met some awesome people. Bud (my hubby) is sorta on the shy side, but a few tequilas later..... the shyness is gone. He then bets me... that within 2 days, my top would be off... I just laughed. One tequila... Two tequila... Three tequila ... and the top is OFF... Anyway, the first day, traveling, the airport, getting up at 3am... Needless to say, pace yourself the first day 'cause Bud and I were in bed a 6pm... LOL!! Have fun. Everyone was amazing; met some new friends and planning to make new ones again this year if I can make up my mind and book this trip. Don't miss out on the Italian Restaurant. It's amazing.
