You will like the Charlotte area for sure - I work there. There are a lot of jobs in both Engineering or IS/IT. There is also a pretty good night life in the area and loads of fun things to do. BTW, You won't have to worry too much about hurricanes in Charlotte. Only one has ever hit Charlotte that I know of and that was Hugo in 89. Raleigh/Durham area is nice as well. I just got back from there. I took the engineering exam in Raleigh today.

We recently moved to Greenville, SC which is about an hour from Charlotte. We love the area. You can take a weekend trip or even a day trip and be in the Mountains, in Atlanta or at the beach (but far enough away to not have to worry about hurricanes.) Charlotte is beautiful and clean city. Housing is a little high in the city. Good nightlife, dining and shopping and they even have valet parking at the mall. Seems like it might be a little pretentious but its still a "Southern City"

Been to both cities.....loved them both. I don't think you'll have any problems finding work or housing.

I'd make the move in a heartbeat!

Been to Charlotte several times.. I like it.. You shouldn't have a problem with a job in Charlotte. Lot of my school friends had moved down there and got jobs. You can also get pretty good flights from Charlotte too. I have went from here to Charlotte then Cancun on both of my trips.. NIce airport as well.. It's probably 3 to 4 hours from Myrtle Beach.. Well, it seems like that far way...

Well it is looking more and more like a possibility! My mom has a few job offers right now in NC. Spoke with my sister and no matter where my mom ends up, her and I will likely move to Raleigh, so she can transfer to a large amount of universities around there. Likely NC State though............ but I will keep you all informed.

Sounds like a great move for you, Jason.

I'm sure you'll have no problems finding a job.

Are you going to continue with your masters at a school down there?

oh yes! UNC tarheels is my favorite college, I would be right near there, so going for my masters there would just be a dream come true. No matter where I end up, ILL transfer to continue my masters while I work!
