You'll be fine in your room, I have never smelt cigarette smoke in any of the rooms. It's the rest of the resort you may have a problem with. Smoking happens everywhere in the public open air areas, particularly the pool and Paty O's. I quit more than a year ago now, and the only time I get tempted is at TTR because everyone is smoking all the time. Fingers crossed I can resist next trip. I would have no problem if they banned smoking, even in the open air areas, outside of a few dedicated smoking spots. The atmosphere at the pool and Paty O would be much better without the smoke.
Never had the smell of smoke in any of our rooms like Donald pointed out they prefer smokers to head out onto the balcony if they wish to indulge. The outside areas are another situation all together you can smoke pretty much wherever you want. I myself never found the smoke level to bad at Paty O's. I used to smoke and it didn't bother me, what I did notice though and I'll probably sound sexist but the amount of woman who as they drink and smoke seem to get a lot more animated and wave their hands around have come real close to getting the heater of their cigarette in my arm. Most of the guys there cup there smokes, pinch the filter between thumb and forefinger with the heater inside the palm of their hand. Tends to make your palm stinky but nobodies ever been burnt by the filter end of the cigarette either. If everyone did this that would be great, I know when I smoked that was one of the things I did.
