Tuesday did up being a Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day (hey I am a Mom forgive me for quotintg childrens lit.! ) I just may have been cursed this day because you were CLOSE...it just didnt happen NEXT! :?

So when last we left Angi and Garland braved electronic shopping only to get stopped for shop lifting. :shock:

See though. You cant get a girl down when she has a new camera in her hands when she has just faced the prospect of being without one for 5 days. We took the bus back to TTR and our moods have been somewhat improved. We go back to the room at this point and find our room to be cooler. Set at 70 so we decrease it to about 60 so we can sleep comfortably this night. (finally) Being in a much more playful mood I take my shower to get ready for dinner and use my "sexy" shower window to do a little dance for G while I am washing up. He doesnt fall for it. So I get back to the buisness of actually cleaning myself and washing my hair. My cell phone rings. I tell G to answer it and take a message.

C here is where that "sexy" window becomes much less sexy. You are completely accessable to the person in the room so they KNOW you see them when they are motioning you to get out of the shower because THIS phone call requires your immediate attention. So naked as a j-bird, hair sudsed up and dripping wet out I come.

It would be cruel to just end this here wouldnt it? :lol:

See I actually THOUGHT about leaving it at that until tomorrow but I am just not that awful (just ask Jamie, he met me and he is still in awe!) so I will continue.

You know how I was :banghead: over one of my kids this past week? Yeah my life has been a little disrupted over this one (really more than a little!). She is 13. Does that explain it? Really it doesnt. Think a normal 13 year old girl x100 or more. I was a bit worried about her and my Dad because my Dad dont take NO shit (hell I should know right? :shock: ). My daughter is just as hard headed! Love the kid but if she isnt the death of me I WILL be able to survive ANYTHING! So before leaving I did consider chaining her in the basement with a jug of milk and a loaf of bread but then someone informed me that this may be considered illeagal so I changed my mind. Dang it! :roll:

So on the phone is....(drum roll please...) yes folks. The police. My daughter isnt listening to Grandpa to save her life. ( I couldnt see THAT coming :wink: actually I offered to make other arrangements for her while I was gone but he insisted she would listen to her and he wanted to spend time with her. I told him "good luck and goodbye!") So Grandpa decided it was time to MAKE her stay in the house. UH yeah. See I am actually so embarrassed that my kid is this out of control but really I was thinking she may listen better to him than me. I doubt I will ever get the full story because as much as I love both of them neither are very good at admitting when they did something wrong (you would think a Grandpa would have learned this skill by now). At this point (today) I really dont care. My daughter needs to learn to respect authority and rules. The officer thinks she and my Dad are at a point that they just cant be left together. My daughter had met this single Mom recently in our neighborhood who is 24. She has helped this Mom with her child and in turn the Mom has been a ear for Dee and giving her advice. Since we moved here life as been hectic to say the least and I havent (on that day I have now) had a chance to meet Sarah. Dee wants to go to Sarah's for the remainder of my trip and is pretty sure she will take her. Is this OK or would you like her placed in foster care ( :shock: ) until you get back? Um could you meet this Sarah for me and see what you think? I would prefer her to stay with someone she knows but am concerned about her since I Havent met her. "sure" the officer says. I will call you once that has happened. Worried. yes worried is likely the correct word for how I feel. Nothing means more than my kids to me but I DO need a break so I can be a better Mom IMHO. Now guilt. Yes I think that is the feeling here. Maybe I shouldnt need time away. But I KNOW I do better when I am relaxed and I rarely get that at home. :?

Hang up and finish my shower. G and I finish getting ready and go to meet our partners in crime for dinner. We bring the cell phone with us (it was previously kept in the room because I didnt see a need to carry it everywhere) so we can call my Dad later and to hear back from the officer. We had made a ressie for 6 at the Asian restaurant as Bill and Tammy were joining us after they went on a booze cruise. We meet up with all. G is looking SMASHING in her DRESS shorts and CLOSED TOED sandals. We were denies access (well he was). However F who was in jeans anda tshirt was allowed in. :roll: But I wont get into this... :flogging: No point I already have. :roll: For those of you who have met G you know he isnt a large man. He is all of 5 foot 6 (with risers on!) but Bill offers to borrow him a pair of pants (dont think so!) I had bought a pair of jeans at Walmart for him earlier in the week if we ran into this but I forgot his size and got them WAY too big. He could have went back and put them on but really I am not that into fancy Asian anyway and was SPENT from earlier in the day. We choose to just go alone to the buffet while they ate at the Asian. Dont worry about us we say...we need a break anyway. We will meet up later.

Like I said the day was shit. litterally folks and there IS MORE shit to come but I need to hit the grocery store so I dont feed my brats ANOTHER fast food meal today! I will try to update you all later this evening if not you will have to wait until tomorrow! Sorry!

I am kindof a camera buff as well. I have my trusty X700 film camera that I love and can't seem to part with.....been eying a Nikon digital SLR though....lusty eyes I guess! For beach trips, I used to have a little Minolta that was water-resistant and shock resistant that used film, and it worked really well until we finally found a way to break it. I searched in vain for a similar digital, but couldn't find one. Got a powershot S1IS, which I absoutely hated!!!! It's auto everything, and as a result, the shutter lag was absolutely repulsive... Auto focus sucked, and the auto exposure sucked as well, unless we were in bright sunlight. It fried on me last week - I have never been so happy that something fried on me! So, I bought a SeaLife ReefMaster ECO for this trip. Got it yesterday, and it is actually quite good for a PHD camera (push here, dummy). It is fixed focus, which is fine with me as the damn auto-focus never seems to guess right when it decides what to focus on anyway - As a bonus, no auto-focus means very little shutter-lag. Lastly, it is waterproof to 75 feet, so I am looking forward to taking it snorkeling.....and it's shockproof to 6ft, so hopefully it can take a beating. I'll let you know how it works - we leave for TTR in 6 days!!!

 

More more more! I'm stuck in the airport in Austin TX with flight delays. Bring on the TR!
