Yup... I too like being shut off. It is so nice to turn off the data on the cell for the time we are there.
I got the same kinda feeling going on but that stupid device if you log onto FB you will not just brag you will see how shitty everyone else is doing in their everyday life and miss all the fun right in front of you. I guess I prefer to stay disconnected for the week and check email. Heck we even tell our kids that the phone costs too much so we don't even have contact with them everyday. It is nice to spend the time with your spouse and (as corny as it sounds) get back to what brought you together and have fun being yourself. Getting lost from the everyday crap with the internet and worrying about someone else life. Yeah I can brag when I get back. It also gives me a chance to filter through all the pictures!
Thanks Scott and Jenn, we are of those that need access for our business and were concerned about lack of access.
In Sept the wifi was ssssssllllllllooooooooooooowwwww.. Like over 10 mins to load a page.. In May it was quicker.. Different way to access the system from May to Sept so I'm wondering if they changed providers.. And if so the over was not to up the speed. lol. May you could buy it on line or pay at the desk. Sept they had a different system with the vending machine, that was broken our week, or on line. No room # password the desk gave out. May I could get signal in my room, Sept I went out on to the balcony and held it in the air like we used to search for service in the 90's.. lol. I love being disconnected all week.. But I do like the earlier flight check in on line. lol.
So busy drinking eating and generally partying that we have to force ourselves to rent the lobby computer to email home and let the family know we arrived alive....got in trouble last time took us three days to remember to email them
We are here now, the internet is much improved from August. We hav internet in our room and do not have to go to the office to get a signal. The charge is $15 USDa day or $64 for 5 days. There are other options, but definitely worth the $ for communications at home (if you have kids). We were even able to skype.
Last Feb the net there sucked royally... but needed it for business reasons... even on vacation some of us cant be away from work.... It has it's upside tho.... you can go to facebook , and post that your drinking like a fish around the pool in 25 degree weather, while the rest of your friends are home in -25 degree weather..... boy do they get pissy ....
Korean I think. Sorry about that, spammers seem to have got past the security again. They've been deleted and banned.
