Ok, a couple messages in this one. Are you saying losing AC is not losing a basic benefit? I am saying AC is a basic benefit that I would expect. I see others not happy about it. I don't think anyone would disagree that there have been more than normal negative responses lately. The resort being sold out over new years has nothing to do with the AC problem unless you are implying it was an isolated incident because others are not reporting it? I can only speak for myself. The deficiencies we experienced in October fits the trend... and I only list because you asked...AC not working as well as it did in other trips, entertainment staff not being as good as past trips, resort gouging us for cigar lounge rental when they hadn't in the past (not a basic benefit but helps illustrate the point that the resort is not meeting our standards, again my opinion), food at the Asian being more bland than past experiences are just some of what we experienced. Deficiencies in our opinion that result in the resort not meeting past experiences/standards. I still love the resort, just not as much.
You and I have both been going to TTR/BBG for many years and we've seen many changes over those years. Ent staff has changed almost every year we've been there and one year we went 3 times. Always someone new or some kind of change, change is hard for repeaters.. But are the changes a big deal to the newbie? I agree the A/C troubles are serious for those who have and could have to deal with it, but like I said we haven't been hearing a huge amount of people complaining about it.. (so yes Jen&Kyle I was implying that it maybe it is or was an isolated incident.) And your right again "People are overreacting and all of a sudden the sky is falling for some. That - I don't get. It's almost like reading "Trip Advisor" lately"
I know Bart and Annette had major A/C issues, but I'm not sure if people really need to worry about upcoming trips. Our A/C has always worked fine there...and yours more than likely will too if you have a trip planned. We ate at the Asian four times last trip because it rocked. We've never had a food complaint...but if you're going to choose a trip based on food...a four or five star is probably a better bet. TTR's claim to fame and popularity is and hopefully always will be the people and the party atmosphere. Hopefully the mechanical issues with the A/C are just a temporary isolated thing. I don't really think there is any evidence that it's as widespread as it's being made out to be - but we haven't been there since May.
It would make us mad too if no AC was on but it never happened to us. We never had any complaints after 10 visits. Except this one time the TV was stuck on this Porn Channel with no volume and it was on night and day no matter what and there was nothing we could do about it. If it happens again we will demand the volume be fixed. :angrymad:
I know, right? The funniest way for us to watch Porn is to turn down the volume and make up our own words as the scene plays out! You should try it yourself! I was just making a funny but it really did happen!:wink3:
