you'll probably get annoyed too, there are some pretty douchey drunks on those buses, but for the most part they are chill
yep, a LOT of buff douch bags that think they are the sh*t, they should be in the gym rather than cancun! BUT, for the most part almost everyone is friendly and ready to party!! And party they do!!!!!
Personally, I prefer nicer places so I have no interest in staying at Oasis. But IT IS where the party is at during the day. As some other have mentioned, staying somewhere nice and go hang out at Oasis during the day is the best way to go if you are picky about where you sleep like me. But if you are young and don't really care the condition of the hotel you stay at, then Oasis is definitely the right choice. The ride from Oasis to party zone is about 15 minutes, a little longer when there is traffic around 11-midnight. There is only one road in hotel zone so around the time when everyone goes out, the traffic is terrible. Sometimes it's better to get off around Senior Frogs and just walk 5 minutes to the other clubs. Don't worry too much about the traveling back and forth between party zone and Oasis. You'd have to do that anyway even if you are staying somewhere else (ie go for the day parties).
I've stayed at the oasis a couple times and I can honestly say the rooms are not that bad. It's a fun place. I understand you can go during the day and leave, but there's something to be said for being able to go up to your room to drop things off, take a nap, bring people up for drinks, go to the bathroom, etc etc...You basically have a home base you can go back to. Unless you have close friends you can leave stuff with, its nice. Also, I always enjoy a good pregame. Some of these other guys can vouch for the fact that we had a hell of a good time pregaming together before the bar. I guess for me, all of my friends stay at the Oasis, so it's a no brainer staying there, it makes life simpler. The food there is very good, and especially good if you stay at the Grand and/or get a bracelet. I doubt the food will be any better elsewhere. The only difference is that the actual accomodations (bed, bathroom, etc) may be nicer elsewhere, and less noise at night when you want to sleep. For me, never had an issue with noise at night, I'm usually so beat by the time I pass out I wouldn't wake up if a freight train drove through my room.
You have really low standards, Steve. LOL. I spent at least a month of the last year in about a dozen hotels. I'm pretty sure all of them were nicer than Oasis. Agreed. Not sure having a room so you can go to the bathroom is necessary unless you are afraid of using public restrooms. But you are right, it's definitely nice to have friends who are staying at Oasis.
although i do enjoy sleeping somewhere nice, my friend doesnt really have the finances to pay more. as long as i have enough to drink i will probably be able to sleep through all the noise at night and be happy and the state of the rooms doesnt bother me too much...when i went to greece i stayed in some VERY questionable hotels so i have seen both ends of the spectrum. i still wouldn't mind the krystal just because its nice but inexpensive and the location is killer, but my friend lauren has her mind pretty much made up about oasis so i guess we will just have to see. im also not too picky about the food, i am not going on vacation to eat, im going to drink haha
the food they serve at that oasis buffet i wouldnt feed to my dog but it was alright munching it when you are trashed i suppose i did it on a couple of occasions! that little steak place in phase 2 was edible at best! what i used to do was go to mcdonalds in the morning if i could be bothered then prob just grab a burger at that little hut near the phase 1 pool! Then on the way home at night get a daddyo's burger or a pizza from the moped dudes! thats what i did for 2 weeks had good intentions of going to actual resturants like outback steak house etc but was too busy having a good time! cant wait to go back
Oasis is actually one of the more expensive hotels during spring break because of the high demand. I've stayed at Omni, ME, and Hyatt, all for less than what my friends paid for at Oasis. When you don't set your mind to a particular hotel, it's easier to find really good deals. As for Oasis food, it's not great but it's better than dog food (well, most choices at the buffet anyway). The burger grill near the center of the pool area is excellent though. It's only open during the day so take advantage of it.
the food at the oasis is terrible!!!! i mean the hamburgers are decent when your hammered, but for me personally that is where i draw the line. everything else to me is just gross. oasis is the spot for the day time no doubt about that, pre gaming at night is also fun there, but thats where it ends for me
Depending on where you get the burger. Burgers at buffet and the bar on the left of the main lobby are not very good but at the grill next to the pool is awesome.
