Next trip: Do you head to Temp yet again or do you give GOV a try?

We've been to TTR twice and definitely had a good time. However, we had a way better time the first time. Probably because the first time it was such a unique experience, it was hard to live up to on our second visit. We're going to Desire RM in Feb. 2014 for 2 weeks, so that will obviously set the bar pretty high but also the price tag that goes along with it :icon_eek:. For 2015...we are definitely looking at GOV. By then I fully suspect that they will either have a great following and have flattened all the kinks OR it just won't be up to the fun level at TTR. Back to TTR we will go if that is the case. Of course Desire would be on the top of the list but it's twice as much $$ as TTR or GOV! Hope to hear some great reviews out of GOV over the next 6 months!

 

We totally agree...it just seemed flat to us compared to the prior visit. We were also there in Nov.

 

I (Tim) agree..... we were there over Halloween and into the first week of Nov and it was not quite the same vibe/level of service etc. as our previous trips (and we are also huge TTR fans). We will return in April, but we are starting the trip (April 3 - 6) at GOV and then moving to Temptation April 6 - 13).

We are doing the same in January. 10 night at TTR and 4 at GOV.

 

I think we will wait and see if it get busyer for 2015 ...looks of the pics this year are borning ...relaxing im sure if that what u want outa a trip to cancun but we love to partie

 

Well for us it is looking like GOV 2014. I posted on GOV forum but thought I would share here too for anyone thinking about booking. Too many pros to not try it out. And the price advantage put us over the top. And if the change over isn't quite there by May then it appears like we will be able to make our own party as several on the gov forum are considering the same time.

Ok. We just booked may 8th for 4 nights at grand oasis viva. Orbitz has a cyber monday deal for the first 500 customers today where it is 25% off hotel rooms only.

So we booked GOV. For May 8th - May 12th, 4 nights, at $163 total a night. The code is lucky500. If you don't make it as one of the first 500 then use 'cheers' which is 20% off. This is better than the alpharooms rate for the same dates of $185 a night and the Expedia/Travelocity regular hotel only rate of $210 and way better than the Temptation alpharooms rate of $215 a night or $225-$249 a night on other sites.

Best of all it is fully refundable until 3 days prior. So if GOV doesn't pan out in the reviews with the concept change we can switch to another hotel. Hopefully it doesn't get to that.

And then the icing on the cake...
In addition we are going to book a vacation package via orbitz. Orbitz now allows you to get the package savings without booking the hotel for your entire stay. So we are going to book the flight from the 8th to 15th and 3 nights at desire pearl (never been, might be over the top for us, but worth trying). And as most know desire pearl isn't typically discounted and is $495 a night everywhere I look for those dates. But with the package we save 300 so it works out to be $395 a night.

I know I sound like a walking orbitz ad so sorry about that but I am just so happy about how this is playing out. Normally I am a walking alpharooms ad

So it comes down to this for us...
$665 for 4 nights at gov
$1184 for 3 nights at desire pearl
$1358 for 2 direct round trip flights from philadelphia. Philly air is expensive in the spring.
Total $3206

Pretty good for a week including half of it at desire pearl!

The pics posted are boring cause the Adult only concept wasn't implemented yet and there turning over the hotel,, and construction ,, so don't base decisions on pictures ''only''.

For me it's whos going to be there , and avoiding the huge construction project getting under way this spring at TTR.

 

Hope the transition is fast as we booked GOV Jan 29 to Feb 5. We loved our time at Temptations last year...best vacation that we have ever had! Everyone there is soo awsome and met so many great people. Many of the great people that we met their will be at Temptations mid Jan...wish we were going to be there as well. Life is busy tho, have to book when we can.

We went with GOV as it was $1000 less for the week than Temptations...and it does not hurt to try new things...Temptations was new to us last year and wow, best choice ever!! Maybe it will happen again!

One thing I do know for sure is...Boobs Cruise here we come!!

 

After visiting TTR from Oct 25th- Nov 3rd, I'm thinking about GOV 4 about 5 days
