    Canada?

Funny...the grass is greener on the other side.

A lot of people in Canada think it would be neat to live in Australia. It has a better climate for one thing. Australia has a vibrant culture. Of course you have just about every nasty poisonous plant and creature, on land and in the sea, known to man about you….lol.

Some of the pluses I think the Toronto area offers is:

    1) Entertainment and major sports. The theatre district is said to be second only to New York and London. The film festival is a huge draw with many big stars in attendance. It has great restaurants. It’s still a relatively safe city in comparison to other major North American cities. It’s an ethnically diverse city which is a plus to some and a minus to others.

    2) Close to lake country. Many Torontonians escape the city on weekends to camp or visit cottages on the numerous lakes near Toronto. There is still an abundance of farm country and wildness to enjoy. Skiing and snow boarding doesn’t have the venues of the western mountains, but there are still some resorts close by Toronto. Upstate New York and Quebec offer some pretty good venues. Snowmobiling and cross country skiing and ice fishing are popular winter activities. Oh and….HOCKEY! lol

    3) Toronto has a close proximity to other major cities (Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, New York). Even Florida is “only” about a 24 hour drive with lots to see and do in between.

Personally, if I was returning to Ontario, without children I would probably choose to live in downtown Toronto, to take advantage of all the city has to offer. I would stay away from the suburbs. If living downtown is not appealing or not an option then I would choose the Niagara area. It’s much more affordable, in terms of housing. My personal choice would be Grimsby. It’s a small town on Lake Ontario, near St. Catharines. Have a look on Google. It’s a pretty place in my mind, which offers the comfort of a small town with all the amenities of a large city fairly close by. The U.S. is about a 20 minute drive and downtown Toronto, with no traffic, is about an hour.

Ontario has around 50% of the Canadian population, which is 33 million, and most of them live in the southern portion around Toronto and south west Ontario.

Ontario is cold in the winter, but better than most parts of Canada. True winter begins around December and the last snowfall is usually at the end of March. Vancouver, B.C’s. climate is moderate, and preferred by some, but instead of snow it rains most of the winter, which is very depressing to a lot of people.

    Hope that helps. :)

    Hey Aussie Girl,

Click on the black and yellow ENTERTAINMENT PLUS logo on the bottom of this page for info on Chichen Itza tours.

Owned by good friends of mine, in business for 10+ years, and two of my best gal pals run the office. English spoken. Great service and unbeatable prices and they don't try to sell you a time share.

They also do transfers from airport to hotels, either one way or round trip.

Excellent reputation and long time advertiser on this site.
